Photo Book Idea

As gifts for grandparents, I've made a few photo books with my son featured in them - with the grandparents/family members also included in the photo. One book I did was about "ABCs" where A was for apple and I took a pic of my son eating an apple, B was for Bubble and there was a photo I took of grandpa and my son blowing bubbles... all the way to Z being for Zoo and I included various pictures of my son, Gammie, my neice, etc at the zoo and in front of the "Zoo" sign. The next book was a color book so the "Red" page featured my son (and others with him) wearing Red, etc. We did a "stripes" page and a "naked!" page (chest-up only btw).

So I want to do another book, but am at a LOSS as to what to do. It doesn't have to be for grandparents. I have a free book with Shutterfly and want to make one just for me and my son/family. Numbers would be great - but I am not sure what the pictures would be! I want to use photos that I have already, not have to retake 100+ photos. But if you have any ideas with me taking pics of my son, go ahead and send those too! I'd love to make it educational if possible. "Seasons" wouldn't work b/c I have no snow/cold pictures of my son. We don't get snow here! We don't go on vacation anywhere, so no need to do a book of or non-cation.

I welcome all ideas and follow-up questions if y'all need more info to help me.

So What Happened?

Love the ideas! So far, the TIME one sounds GREAT! Granted, It'll take me some work!
I did to a small flip-book of crazy faces. I didn't attach "feeling words" to them, as some of the expressions I didn't know WHAT he was feeling! But maybe I'll give that one a go!

THANKS!

I love how creative you are!!!

How about a book by month of each holiday in that month Jan - beginning of new year, Feb -Valentines Day, March - St. Patrick's Day etc. include birthday month too.

How about a dress up book. Your son could be dressed as a firefighter, police man, chef, football player etc.

A telling time book. Take pictures of him waking up, breakfast, going to school, lunch dinner, activities, bedtime, etc. and include a photo of a real clock (not digital) with the time on the hour or half hour.
When I worked in first grade I was shocked out how little time we had to teach this. If the parents didn't follow through at home then the kids really didn't learn it!

I make books and include funny/sweet quotes my kids say over the year. They are always a hit and is a great way to remember all the wonderful things they say forever.
For a number book you could go by number of pictures on a page (depending on how many pictures you can add to each page and number of pages you want in the book) For example, for 1 have one picture (like a cute headshot) #2 could have two pictures and 3 pictures for #3 and so on. For the bigger numbers you could use two facing pages such as #15 have a collage of 7 pictures on one side and 8 pictures on the other. That way you can use any of the pictures you already have. Good luck!

I always do a book after my son's birthday. I've been doing that since he was born. Books run from late November to mid November ending in his birthday.

I also have a free offer that expires Wednesday, so I am doing a book just of our trip to India this January since I already did the book after his birthday last year.

The first book I ever did was for Fathers Day. My oldest was learning his alphabet at that time, so I thought it appropriate to do "The ABC's of Daddy". I took a picture of the boys holding the alphabet chart together (baby in the bumbo seat, which of course, was on the ground). I did A is for...and found pictures of things we already had for inspiration: Aquarium (a neat pic of daddy and son watching a shark, their reflections in the glass), trips Abroad (a pic of us all outside Buckingham Palace), love that is Absolute (a picture of us on a date), and Admire (daddy staring eye to eye with our youngest as a newborn). I was able to find something for all the letters, although I was kinda stretching it for Q and had to look in the dictionary for inspiration for X. :) That book actually made Jeremy have a little choke and tear!
We've also done "I want to be a cowboy" when he was going through a big cowboy phase and we had lots of pictures of him dressed as a cowboy, doing pony rides, riding the mechanical bull, feeding horses at a charity thing, watching a rodeo, pictures from the stockyards where they held some classes by a covered wagon and did herded cattle down the street, etc. We've done "Summer Days" one, and a "Who loves baby" book which is actually a family tree book....pictures of him with different family members so we can look at it and he can know they love him, even though we live far away and can't see them often.
