Ok I my one year old is teething very bad she is getting her molars and canines in at the same time. So she is not eating so well. But what she will eat isn't very healthy she will eat fruit so I guess thats healthy but she wants chips and cookies I try not to give them to her but her brother and sister will get chips with their sandwich so she wants chips unfournatly that is the only thing she will eat. If I don't give her anything she will scream and not eat at all! I tried just ignoring her thinking that she will eventually eat but she won't. I'm worried she is turning into a picky eater. So is this teething or just picky eating? What are some ways I can maybe get her to eat I have already reduced her snacks and milk thinking that she is too full on those to eat but it is not helping. Any suggestions are welcome!! Oh and I am very cautious about sweets and junk food chips with sandwiches are like once every 2 weeks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well I realized it was a mixture of teeth and picky eating. She is just like her older brother. As frustrating as it is I just keep serving them both things they don't like in the hopes that one day they will try it. But as for the eating in general she is eating her normal foods everyday now.

We are going through this too and a couple of weeks ago my one yr old was teething really bad and he was only wanting certain things to eat as well. It is better now that his gums are not as swollen but he was extremely picky and yes chips were one of the only things he ate one day. I don't give him chips regularly but he screamed until I did and he ate them and I had some peace. I know some moms are cringing reading this but it isn't every day and it was actually only twice. I think teething effects their eating so much and you just have to do what works.

It could very well be teething, but the fact that she likes chips makes me think its behavioral. Chips are hard, so they would be painful for teething. If I were in your shoes, I would make the same healthy eating requirements of all the kids in the house. Ex: sandwiches and fruit for lunch, but chips are only for special times (that way she isn't seeing her brothers get something she can't have). Bottom line- if she only has healthy things available to her, she will eventually have to eat them :-). Good luck!

We had to rid our house of sweet stuff. And no one gets chips unless they eat the main portion of the meal first. Because my youngest wants the junk first and wont eat.
It is picky eating on our end.
Good luck.

OMG! This is exactly what is going on with us. Carter has gotten FIVE teeth at once!!! I didnt realize why he was so cranky until I felt in his mouth and felt new teeth WAY back there. He too has not been wanting his milk/food as usual. He never rejects any food...until now. So, I do believe its his poor toofies!

Why dont you try giving her some tylenol a few times a day?
