J.M.
my kid wouldnt let M. pick her clothes although she'd pock out what have J. said with black leggings instead. if its only a head shot why the boots?
Tomorrow is picture day! Yay! (sarcasm)
Anyhoo, they get fall AND spring pictures taken, so for these I want my daughter to look fallish.
I picked her up a super cute flowy orange blouse/tank top with flowers on it, and Im thinking it would look cute with jeggings and her brown boots.
But, its going to be 86 degrees tomorrow. Go with it even though she will be hot as heck, or come up with something else?
That is of course, if she likes the shirt. ;)
I know the spring pictures are full body, cant remember about the fall. Im thinking its just a head shot considering this is the yearbook pic.
I had to talk her out of wearing boots today! I dont know where she gets her love of boots from! ;)

Well, the only thing showing in the picture will be her head and shoulders.... so why put her in jeggings and boots? Let her wear the top with something more suitable for the weather.
Umm... wow, two picture days?
If it were me, I'd ask her what *she* wants to wear. If it's too casual, offer her two reasonable choices you wouldn't mind seeing in the picture.
I would NOT send my child to school in clothes they would be uncomfortable in, ever, unless there was truly a good reason. Let her pick a cute top, some shorts that go with it, and call it good. They're only getting her from the waist up, right? Why make her suffer over a picture? Yikes...
Dress her for the weather. We run into this same problem in CA. It's 95 here right now and I end up digging through summer clothes to find something that isn't too small or stained at this point. Would much rather put our kids in cute, new fall clothes, but they'd be miserable.
Is is a full -body picture? If not, why not just put her in cropped leggings or shorts and brown Mary Janes? Or a skirt?
Dress them comfortably. Our photos are not full body so the top only counts. I just had picture day for me. Oh what fun it was getting them out the door in decent shape without getting dirty. That's all that mattered to me. =)
Do they do a full body shot? If not just let her wear the shirt but skip the boots.
Go with it - sounds cute!
Hopefully pics are in the morning before recess...
I'd have her wear the outfit....sometimes fashion hurts! That is what I tell my daughter when she wears cute, but uncomfortable shoes.
The outfit doesn't sound 'hot' to me. Maybe not have her wear the boots? Otherwise, I would have her wear the outfit.
I wouldn't think they are full body photos so I would lose the jeggings and boots. Or she could change after pictures. Last year my daughter's picture day was on gym day (whose idea was that?!) so she got her picture taken in a dress and then changed into her regular clothes for the rest of the day.
Let her wear something else.
I've never heard of fall and spring pictures. Why take a "spring" picture in the fall?
In most cases, it's just a head shot. Then a picture of the entire class is taken. There's a much larger chance that she'll be in the back row.
School is air conditioned right? Genna wore, well can't remember but it was hot and didn't care because of the AC.
Oh, our picture day was two weeks ago so I think 95 out.
Sounds a little warm, what about a cute skirt to go with the blouse instead? That might be a little cooler and still cute
I gave up on school pics after last year. I found I was spending hundreds of dollars per year for pictures everyone ended up hating, plus a lot more money for sport pics, dance pics, etc.
I now just get the head shot and some wallets so they can exchange with classmates. If it's a team sport, I'll splurge on the group shot. I have our photographer do a bunch of pictures with them in the summer after football uniforms have been issued. They'll do dance, karate, individual sports, etc all at the same time. The pictures always come out much better and we actually use them. Unlike the big pile of picture envelopes I have accumulated from years of school!
Go with comfort. If you kid isn't comfortable, they aren't going to look very happy in the pictures.
