I'm looking for a play group in the St. Paul MN Como area. I really need to get out of the house and do things.

There is a website called meetup.com. On it there is a mpls playgroup that meets a couple of times per month. They just started. I went to the first playdate at Edinbourough Park. It was a lot of fun hard for the little ones though. They go to different places everytime. I have a 10 month old little girl and have been looking for the same thing. You could also try the moms club of saint paul. Im not sure if they have one but most cities do.

Have you looked at MOMS Groups? If you search online for it, you will find their national website. They have many metro groups. A friend referred me to it, and I am looking into it now. Hope it helps you, as it is for stay-at-home moms primarily.

1. There is a super active east and west como international mom's club. It is an international non-profit group to support at-home and part-time working moms. Dues are $25/year and they have 2 or more things on the calendar per week (playdates, field trips, mom's night out, park days, parties, etc.) I am a member of the East St. Paul club and love it! I know that the como groups are even more active and have a larger membership. You can find your local contact person by visiting www.internationalmomsclub.org and putting in your zip code.
2. There is also a great weakly attachment parenting playgroup that meets at the midway-hamline branch library (large meeting room in the basement). They are meeting at 10 am (sometimes people aren't there till 10:30) on Tuesdays in March, but will meet on Fridays after the tax season. You could probably find out more info. by visiting the twin-cities api (attachment parenting international) web-sitte ...I think it is twincitiesapi.org. Lots of moms/babies come even if they are not involved in the larger attachment parenting group...they are really nice women and a wide range of kids (infants to 2 1/2 yr. olds or older) I used to attend this group regularly, but have found myself too busy recently.

Hope this helps!

Look into ECFE in Roseville; they have a drop and play option that costs about a dollar or two. The number is ###-###-####. There also might be availability in some of their baby classes. I've taken my boys there for several years and we love it.

Have you checked into ECFE classes? Each school district should send out a catalog, otherwise you can find them online, but I just started doing them with my soon-to-be 3 year old and we both love them. They have them for all ages. It's a great way to meet other moms in the area and also good for the kids to interact with others. Once they get old enough (I think it's about 2), you actually separate for part of the class time, so it's a great way for you to get some free time as well and be with other adults. They even have childcare, so I can drop my 1 year old off. It does cost money though, but they go on a sliding scale according to your income, so that might help if you didn't want to pay. I definately recommend it when they get older since I'm a stay at home mom too, it's great for them to get out and have to learn to listen to other adults. My daughter loves it and gives me a kiss when I leave and doesn't even care.

I live in the como area as well. I have a four month old little girl. She is not into play groups right now, but soon enough. I love to walk around the lake on my days off so I would love to do that with you if you are interested. My cousin is expecting in July and she lives here in the area as well, I will keep in touch. I do not work on Wednesdays and Fridays so those days we can plan something. Let me know if you are interested
