Playgroups near LaGrange, IL

Does anyone know of or belong to a play group in or near LaGrange? My daughter is 14 months old and loves interacting with other kids and I was just wondering if there was anything out there we could join. We go to a couple classes during the week to meet other kids and she loves that, but I thought something longer and less structured might be nice. Plus I don't really know anyone with kids or living out here since all of my friends are childless and dwell in the city. I'd love to meet some new people as well!

Thanks!!
A.

Hi! I am relatively new in La Grange and I found an organization called LaGrange Area Newcomers and Neighbors. They do a lot of charity and social events. But, what first brought this to my attention was a weekly playgroup that they host as well. They meet every monday at a local church (I have only been to it once so far). i really enjoyed it and plan to go back. It was nice to meet some new people in the area too.

There is a $20 fee to become a memeber, but your first three events or playgroup meetings are free (just to see if you'll like it or not without having to pay up front). I haven't joined yet, but I most likely will. I will be going to this week's playgroup, but I'll be a little late. It runs from 9:00-11:00. When I was there last there were mostly toddlers 12-24 months--so your daughter would fit right in.

The organization has a website that will explain everything a lot better than I can! http://www.lagrangeil.com/LAGAN/index.htm

Hope that helps!

You could try to hook up with a My Gym or Gymboree group. I live in the south suburbs and took my oldest to My Gym in Orland Park, but there are other locations closer to you...same with Gymboree. Both have websites. hope this info helps.

Hi. I am new to La Grange Park (recently moved here from North Carolina.) My daughter is 5, but if you hear of any groups, or would like to get together (at the library or something?) please do let me know. I don't have any friends here either, and my daughter loves younger children.
Feel free to email me if you want.

Hi A.,
I'm in Brookfield too, and have an almost 13 month old DD (as well as a 4 y/o DD). I work full-time, but would be happy to meet up with you and your little girl sometime!

Let me know!

Hi. I am trying to get a Sat. afternoon group together. So far I have my daughter 32 months, a 20 month old and a 24 month old. I live in Lombard and I used to teach at Cossitt, so I know the commute here is only 20 minutes or so. We can also rotate meeting places.
Let me know what you think.
