My problem is a few weeks ago I had a urinary track infection. When the nurse have me antibiotics she asked if I was pregnant and I said no. Now I'm freaking out incase I am and I took an antibiotic that could hurt the baby if I am!! Any nurses out there or any insight?? Please and thanks god bless !!

Make an appt with the Doctor. Even if you aren't pregnant going to the bathroom all the time and lower back pain might mean you still have an infection that needs attention.

Don't worry. If you are about three weeks and was on antibiotics a couple
of weeks ago, chances are no implantation had taken place. Even if it did,
really not a problem

Hmmmm? Maybe buy a pregnancy test or going to a doctor? I have been reading alot of post's asking "am I pregnant? Or, "can I be pregnant?"...... HELLO! Buy a pregnancy test! Why take any chance's in harming the baby if you possibly are pregnant! Sorry if I sound cruel, don't mean too but it's something soo simple and can simply be resolved by going and buying the cheapest pregnancy test and finding out. I had a urinary track infection while I was pregnant too and my doctor also prescribed antibiotic's for me too...But please just take the test and find out! Good Luck!

I ate sushi, drank martinis, and got my hair colored before I knew I was pregnant. DD turned out perfectly fine.

Please just go pee on the stick. I don't mean to offend anyone either, but I get tired of the "Could I be pregnant?" questions too. Just go pick up a test and find out.

Do not panic. Seldom do anti-biotics cause any damage. They used to tell women pot would damage their babies and it turned out to do nothing except get the mother stoned. (Not recommending it just using it as an example).
Hospitals and doctors have become extremely cautious about everything a pregnant woman takes and uses and eats. In reality they know less about pregnancy than they know about the human genome.
I took aspirin all through one pregnancy and had a healthy normal child.
Any mother will tell you not to worry. Enjoy your pregnancy and have a lovely time as a new mom.

When you go in to the doctor you have to answer a question that asks, "Have you consumed alcohol at all during your pregnancy?" on the paperwork you fill out... My doctor said that pretty much everyone she has ever seen puts, "Yes, before I knew." So, I'm pretty sure an antibiotic is just fine.

I went to an outside wedding and came into contact with something that made me have an allergic reaction. I was given a topical and oral steroid. STEROID!! Like, heavy heavy steroid. There is an explicit warning on it, not to take while pregnant. Well, apparently I was. I found out 2 weeks after I had started taking it. I took that junk and I was pregnant! I was so terrified and my Dr. was quite worried. My baby was fine and still is 22 months later. I don't think your antibiotic will harm your baby, if you have one in there. I wouldn't worry about it.

The best thing to do is first of all ...relax...take a deep breath....and call your pharmacist...explain to them what antibiotic you took...how far along you may be...and ask them if there is any reason for you to be concerned

I am not sure about your situation, but I have learned that they also ask if you are pregnant because sometimes it affects how well the drug works. Also a good friend once told me (because I was worried about alcohol consumed before I knew) that "God protects us until we know........then you are on your own!" Congrats!

Since pregnancies are calculated from the first day of your last menstrual cycle you are not actually pregnant for the first two weeks of the calculation, if you have a 28 day cycle.
First do a pregnancy test, then talk to the pharmacist about the medication you took (because they are open today). If you are pregnant, call your doctor first thing Monday morning.
Best of luck to you.

Think about all of the millions of women who get pregnant as a result of a drunken night. If the alcohol didn't harm the baby, I'm sure the antibiotics you took won't either. BTW, yes, you are pregnant (based on what you described), so congrats! Talk to your doctor about this, however, I'm sure your baby is fine!

The exact SAME thing happened to me and yes, I was freaked out too! I should have known something was wrong because I hadn't had a UTI for 10 years. That may also be a sign of pregnancy if you don't usually have them. Take a pregnancy test and see if you are pregnant. If you are, then you probably are ok since it takes time for the egg to get fertilized then implant. These things are kinda all or nothing so early in pregnancy. If it hurt your baby then you would miscarry. If it didn't you baby will be perfect. Chances are, if you are pregnant, then the antibiotic didn't effect that baby at all. Trust me, I know exactly how you are feeling. BTW, except for being breech, my son is perfectly healthy.

You're probably just fine and baby is safe. Go get a $1 prego test and make sure to tell you OB about it all if you are indeed pregnant.

Historically, there was at time when expectant mothers were given antibiotics and the effect was gray colored baby and adult teeth later on life. But that would have had to been taken during the formation of the teeth buds and you are not even close to that period of gestation.

Don't freak out. It's okay.
You may or may not be pregnant. Freaking out won't change it either way.
Also, many pregnant women have to take antibiotics during their pregnancies and the children are all right.
Think about how many women get pregnant and have no idea for a couple of months. You're not using street drugs, you took an antibiotic. If you are pregnant, there might be something different they would give you for a uninary tract infection, but they would still have to give you something.
It's not good to have infection in your body while you're trying to grow a baby.

Take a deep breath. You don't know if you're pregnant. You've already taken the medicine.
Even if you are pregnant, I feel fairly confident in saying that you haven't done anything to harm your baby. Worrying too much can be worse than taking an antibiotic while pregnant.

Best wishes.

Please don't panic!

It's possible that you are pregnant, and it's possible that you are not. The big moon last month messed up a lot of people's cycles, and I'm quite certain that if you've watched the news at all lately, your body is experiencing the effects of stress.

As someone who has taken lots of medications during lots of pregnancies, don't worry. The chances of that having affected your baby, IF you are pregnant, are small. Instead, why not focus on what you CAN do-- make sure to take a pre-natal and lots of folic acid every day in case you are pregnant, and then make sure to get some gentle exercise. In a few days, take a pregnancy test or two, and keep doing what you're dong. You're going to be just fine, and if you are pregnant, so is baby.

Praying for you!

I had to take penicillin when I was 8 weeks pregnant for a UTI. I also was on antibiotics for BV and Diflucan for yeast infections for almost my whole first trimester. My body easily gets "out of wack" and so with the addition of the pregnancy, me and my boyfriend finally concluded to not touch each other for a while to avoid the problems. All of this was monitored by my OB. 8 weeks ago I had an incredibly healthy 9lb 13 oz. baby boy. He had no problems even with that whole first trimester of antibiotics and issues. Stop worrying and just relax!

Which antibiotic did you take? I don't see that mentioned. Most get at worst a category c. Not ideal, but not instant garunteed issue either.
Take a test to be certain and chill. I know easier said then done, but stress will not help.
