I would keep giving her regular food, just change what kinds of food you are giving her.
Focus on giving her mostly high-fiber fruits and vegetables. Applesauce is not good for constipation, but apple juice is. (I usually diluted my DD's...) If you give her toast or anything like that, go for whole-grain. Beans are also a good source of fiber. My DD never really ate 'baby food'. I pureed the healthy parts of whatever I was cooking for dinner that night, and that's what she got. When she was closer to 9-10 months, she was eating quite a bit of table food... honestly, table food is better for them than the stuff 'made' for babies. (so many preservatives and extra processing...)
I used to also do a stomach massage when my DD was plugged up. After a nice warm bath, lay her on her back, with her head away from you. Start on her right (your left) and rub in small clockwise circles in the area between her hips and her belly button, working your way to her left. Do that a few times, and it usually helps to get things moving. Only use about as much pressure as you would use when pushing on your eyelid.
Also, it may seem gross... but if the poop is RIGHT THERE, you can put a little Vaseline in the area...Kind of help it slide out.
