Possible Complication from C-section???

Hi moms,

At my OBGYN appointment last week, I was told that it appears as though my uterus has either shifted over to the right side of my abdomen (as a result of scar tissue from my c-section) or that I have a cyst in that area. I'm having an ultrasound on Wednesday but I'm a bit nervous about what's happening. Does anyone have any experience with this type of thing? The only symptom I've had is that I've felt pregnant for the past 6 weeks (cramping, bloating, etc...).
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

You should go to Apothecary Tinctura and receive a C-section massage or Mayan Uterine massage. They would give you a lot of knowledge and advice.

I'm sorry that you have to go through this. Complications like that can come from adhesions (scar tissue around the uterus). They may be the cause of ongoing pelvic pain that is more common after a c-section. I also recommend looking up a ICAN meeting - they provide support for c-section recovery. For more information, you can look at the c-section booklet on the Childbirth Connection website: http://www.childbirthconnection.org/article.asp?ClickedLi...

I have had 2 c-sections and also 2 ovarian cysts removed. The only complications I had were adhesions(scar tissue) and a hernia at the incision site. What you're describing sounds more like an ovarian cyst which can get quite large, large enough to shift your uterus to one side like that. And yes it does feel like you're pregnant in the respect that you do feel bloated. Both of mine were about grapefruit sized when they were removed. Good luck with the ultrasound, it should definately give you some answers.

Unfortunately, complications from c-sections are more common than many people realize, and although I don't have a lot of information for you, I think you might find some support and other women who have had similar experiences on the ICAN email list. ICAN is the International Cesarean Awareness Network and they have a really large email list full of c-section moms. Just google ICAN.

I'm sure you'll be fine, but it always helps to have support from others in your shoes.

hhmmm...ectopic pregnancy........unless you're on some sort of horomone replacement, there would be no reason to "feel" pregnant unless you are.
