Ok Mamas, I went to the doctor yesterday due to the fact that its been 3 months and he said if i wasn't preggo in 3 months to come back. Well they did a pregnancy test and low and behold I AM PREGNANT!!!! So my last period (or i think it was a period) was Dec 25,2010. I also had a period on Dec 14,2010 so i really dont know how far along i am yet cause i dont go back to the dr til feb 1. What were your first signs if you had twins before you really knew? Thanks and yes i am a twin and my brother and sister are twins,my mawmaw has brothers that are triplets too. my first pregnancy was single and i didnt have any symptoms,this one i am hungry more often and dizzy at time but thats about it so far. He had me scheduled for a week from yesterday but my hubby cant go with me then and so feb 1 is the first day that he will be able to go with me.
You'll probably hear that most mom's pregnancies differ greatly sometimes from the 1st and 2nd babies. Mine were totally different - no sickness with #1; sick all the time with #2, etc., etc. Both were single births. You certainly do have the gene it sounds like for multiples but just the symptoms don't warrant any concern. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
If you had a period on Dec 14th, then the 25th was probably implantation bleeding. You'd be about 5 weeks along now. Good luck with your pregnancy!
I suggest waiting on getting the sonogram done to worry about that. Why do you think your having twins? do they run in family..good luck with this

I found out I was expecting twins when I was 8 weeks. I didn't have a feeling I was pregnant with more than one since I had never been pregnant. But, once we found out, it clicked. That's why I had to switch to maternity pants so early! Other than growing so quickly (I thought I was majorly overeating and something I was doing was wrong), I didn't have any reason to suspect twins. And, they run in my family, too.
My twin pregnancy felt no different from my single pregnancies in the beginning. We knew that twins were a possibility due to IVF and high betas (blood tests that you get when you do IVF that measure pregnancy hormones) but other than the blood work and u/s I wouldn't have suspected twins until sometime in 2nd trimester.
I NEVER suspected I was having twins (didn't run in the family....wasn't really any different from my other two pregnancies) UNTIL my 3 year old told me "there are two babies". I was shocked! Laughed, giggled---for a while. Then just blew him off---for two more months. He insisted SO MUCH---that the doctor became angry and wanted to "show him" and did an ultrasound in the room. Voila! Twins! Don't ask me! He's 19 and my twins are 15---adn we STILL don't know how/why he knew! Fun stuff! Good luck on your pregnancy!! Let us know either way!
I agree that Dec. 25th wasn't a period, it was implantation bleeding. I'm not sure why you think you are having twins. It sounds like you are thrilled to be pregnant so I wouldn't worry right now about due dates. Did you have a pelvic exam? That would give you an idea of gestation and I don't think the size of the uterus would be any different at this stage based on a single pregnancy or twins. An exam and an ultrasound will be the best indicators. Not sure why the doctor is having you wait until Feb. 1 but why not give them a call and ask?
