My 14 month old daughter seems to be in the last stages of breastfeeding so I've been looking into getting new bras. Before I was pregnant, I was a 34 C. During and after pregnancy I went up to a D. I was just measured at Victoria's Secret yesterday and am a 36 C. I bought a couple of bras to get me started. My question is this.... I have lots of really nice bras in my old size (34 C). Should I get rid of them or will my body eventually go back to a 34? I know that the rib cage expands with pregnancy so women often go up in bra sizes, but does it ever go back?

What can I do next?

Buy a three dollar bra extender for the extra two inches and keep the bras. I went down to where I was but it took awhile around that part of the rib cage. If you find you don't get there in a year or so...get rid of them. The person who invented the bra extender should be a millionaire....

Yes, get a bra strap extender.
That is what I did.
It goes on the back strap of your bra.
Any lingerie store will have it.

Yah, wish I invented that.

My body went through several post pardon phases. It changed when my daughter turned 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 14/15 months (when she weaned) and two years. My body is different than it was pre baby, but I definitely have my body back.

When my daughter turned a year old, I decided to give away most of my prebaby items, convinced I would never fit them again. It was foolish. I would have easily been able to most of them again. I lost a lot of weight (and inches) after my daughter was weened.

I was a 30 before, and I am now. My son is 2 years old, and I've just noticed recently that my pre-pregnancy bras feel not as tight. I think in the past few months, my ribcage is back to it's normal size. My milk never came in and my cup-size never changed. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. It depends on you, some woman's rib-cages never go back, and some do. I would buy the extenders, and maybe when your daughter is closer to 2 years...you will notice some more changes.

It took about 2 and a half years (and I breastfed for one and a half) until I was back in my pre-pregnancy bras. (also took some dieting! :)

it just depends, i was a 34 b before my first daughter, then i went to a 36 c with her. i went from a 36 c to a 38 e with my second daughter, im down to a double d, but i dont think they will move much from there

It depends on your body, and your fitness level.

if i were you i would just get the basic bras, black, white, fancy and sports and then buy more when you settle on a size

Keep them around for a while, but after my son was born and I was back to my pre-baby weight my shape had changed so significantly that a lot of my pre-baby clothing didn't fit anymore!

For me, my ribcage expanded and never went back, so I had to invest in new bras!

I was a 36C at pregnancy and after and when my daughter was about 1 1/2 years old I went back to 36B so I'd keep them around. I agree with the bra extender.
