I have a wonderful 3 yr. old son. He has got potty training down during the day. (He even likes to stand up already) although at night it seems when I put a diaper on him he'll stay dry, so when I decide to let him go without he Pee's any advice on what to do? or how long it may take?

What can I do next?

hi R., i don't have a boy but what my sister in law did with her boys.was she would limit intake of fluids then she put a boys pull-up on him which you can buy at any grocery store. then on top of the pull up she would put a pair of his choice of undershorts on top. then she told them when he can stay dry all night then he gets to take off the pull-up and just wear his shorts. but she made it a big deal. putting a diaper on made them still feel like babies. the pull -up made them feel like bigger boys because they can just stand up and step into so good luck hope it helps.

All kids are different my first son was so easy he was fully potty trained at 3 and never had any accidents. But my second son was a different story he two had it down during the daylight hours but during his sleep there were a couple of accidents. I think it is just something you have to stick with. I let him know that it was an accident and that they happen from time to time. I cut off fluids an hour before bed time and made sure that he went pee just before he got in to bed. Good luck

Hi R.,
Night time will come...there are studies that discuss boys having more difficulty with this (although I know some girls do too) but there are reasons chemically/physiologically. You may look at making sure his fluid intake is good during the day and setting a time in the evening when fluids are stopped, hour-two before bed. But some older boys have this problem, it will pass.

My 5 year old still wets the bed ocasionally but I've found that if he sticks to his schedule he does better. We also don't have anything to drink about an hour before bed. We still use the pull-ups because they make him feel more secure, but I'm sure he'll grow out of it. Good Luck!
