Potty Training - El Paso, TX

I have 2 girls. They are now 12 and 9. What I did was stopped all drinks about a hour before bed time. Then go to the bathroom right before bed time. Even if they say they don't need to they had to sit on the potty. Then first thing in the morning she had to sit on the potty. Then if no wet pull up I let her pick out the "pretty big girl panties" she wanted to wear. She hated to have to take off her "pretty big girl panties".

I had a similar problem with my daughter. She did fine during the day. I was even able to trust her to leave the house with her panties and not a diaper. My next hurdle was the night time diaper. It wasn't unitl a little bit after her third birthday that I thought what I should do. I said that I would do the same thing that I did when we started potty training...let her sleep with no diaper. It was a messy week, laundry everyday, but at the end of the week she was 100% potty trained. Now she knows that if she has to go at night, she has to wake up and go to the bathroom. We bought her a princess clock that has a light to it so she can see where she is going. We also put in a night light in the bathroom that she able to reach to turn it on. Good luck, potty training is not easy!

We potty trained night and day at the same time. We just cut down on his liquid before bed (like no more after dinner) and then we made sure he went right before he climbed into bed. Then we would get up with him 20 minutes before his normal awake time and take him potty (he was an early morning guy). Most days, he'd go right back to sleep. We'd have a few wet mornings, but they really weren't as often as you'd think. He got the hang of it quickly and now we don't even have to wake him as he has enough control to wake up himself if necessary or hold it until he wakes up. Also, once we started potty training, we got rid of all diapers and pullups - none in the house, so he (and we) had no choice but to continue witht the training. The tempation to go back to diapers is just too great, but it is confusing to the kids.

Maybe start small going to potty before bed, also we use the GoodNight, pll up pants. They are ticker than a normal pull up. Then also explain about going at night. I placed a night light in the bathroom, so little one could see. The rest will happen in time, practice and keep talking about going to potty at night

Hi, I'm L.. My girls are older now, but when I started potty training them, I didn't give them anything to eat or drink after 7 or 7:30 in the evening. As they got older, like into their 3rd year, I started giving them small amounts of water to teach their bladder to expand and retain the urine. they went potty right before bed and as soon as they woke up. I used pull ups for safe keeping the mattress for about a month or two just to catch any accidents. I hope this works for you if you try it. Good luck whichever way you go. HI A.! My daughter is 4, yeah 4. She is potty trained completely during the day, but not at night. She wears a pull up to bed. We have tried, but most nights she doesn't wake up at all, even if we wake her up once or twice to go. I have talked to a lot of moms and find this is not that uncommon.

When I was potty training my little girl, we would strp all liquids at least an hour and a half before bed. Right before bed we would both go potty together. When we first started this we would let her wear her pull-ups. If we went a week without an accident we would wear some pretty panties. If she had an accident we'd tell her it's Ok and let her decide if she wanted a pull up or if she wanted to try again with panties. After a couple of bedtime accidents, we now have only an accident once in a blue moon. We still make sure we don't have liquids too close to bedtime and we still go potty right before bed.
