Potty Training - Simpsonville,SC

I did this w/my daughter, so it may work if he is still sitting down. I bought one of those potty seats that fits over a regular toliet so they can sit on it w/out falling through. This helped a lot w/getting her to poop in potty as she did not like pooping in the one that sat on the floor at all. Also I could take this in a bag when we went out and put on the public toliet and that helped too. Also on road trips where the potty stops may not be the cleanest or when you have to use a porta john. You just have to really clean bottom afterwards but I used the bleach wipes for that.

you know some kids just don't like to go in public i remember when my stepson was in school he would hold it all day and we live in the coutry when he got off his school bus his pants went down in the middle of the woods lol its funny hes 18 and still won't use a public restroom

Perhaps for now your son could go in the ladies room with you. I personally think women do a better job teaching cleanliness, and you could show him the way to have good personal hygeine. That way when he is older and goes in the men's room with his dad, he will know just what to do. It sounds like you have been doing most of the potty training, so the men's room is probably even more strange because you're not there with him. As for the not doing so good with the poops, I'm not sure. I just explained to my girls that we had more to clean up and less play time when we had to stop to clean up accidents. That seemed to help them want to go in the potty everytime.

My son was exactly the same way. Do you blame them?? He still doesnt want to go in the public bathrooms.
They make these portable plastic toilet seat ring that go over the toilet. I had to buy one for my son to go out in public. It was great. You can buy them at Walmart or Target. They fold up and you can put it in a diaper bag, pocket book or just keep it in your car. Plus they are made for kids so there is no worry of falling in. You can start using it at home so he knows its his and he gets use to it.

I have five children and always had to put forth a little more effort for the bowel movements. That seems to be normal and with your help he will get it all the time. The public restroom thing, I remember seeing a travel ring from the company One Step Ahead. It's called Cushie Traveler, it has a washable bag and fits into your diaper bag. If you started by using it at home your son would become familiar with it and then you could use it while out and about. It will be his and not something so unfamiliar. Good Luck!
