I had two girls and both of them let me know when they were ready and it was virtually easy. I am helping my daughter with her 2 year old son. He just doesn't seem to be interested. Any advise would be great.

What can I do next?

I too have a little boy who is now 2 1/2. He is now interested. I bought the DVD Once Upon A Potty. You may laugh, however, it gives them visuals to what they are supposed to do. It is done in good taste. The cheerios didn't help me, but has helped some other people that I know. I sat and watched the video with him several times and talked it up. Then I bought "big boy" pants. If he had an accident, I didn't punish him, I just took him to the bathroom, even if he already did it and would put him on the toilet and explained that this is where we go potty. Apparently it worked. On a lighter note, you should know that boys are not as able to control their bladders as girls. That's why most boys aren't trained until 3 or older.

Hi K..

Well I am trying at this very moment to potty train my two year old son. He has yet to go IN the potty but he will sit on it at least. I may not know how to make it happen but I can tell you something that I did so that your daughter won't do it.

When I first started to potty train, I thought I'd buy a potty that would hold his interest. One that made noises and sounds and played music. WRONG IDEA!!! He looked at it as more of a toy than anything. So when I bought another potty, I bought just a plain regular non-musical potty. Now he'll sit on it and he knows what he is supposed to do.

Like I said I may not be able to help you with what to do. But I can tell you what NOT to do.

Good luck!!!

FIRST OF ALL HAVE HIM TO GO TO THE POT EVERY 15 MINUTES AND TELL HIM TO LET YOU KNOW WHEN HE IS FINISH AND SOME TIME BUYING THEM LITTLE BOYS UNDERS WITH THERE FAVORITE CHARCTERS ON THEM SOME TIMES MAKE THEM WANT TO WEAR THEM AND THEN YOU HAVE TO TELL HIM THAT HE IS A BIG BOY NOW SO HE MUST GO TO THE POTTY NOW.AND YOU HAVE TO DO IT EVERYDAY,AND IT TAKE TIME,I AM SURE THAT HE WILL CATCH ON QUICKER THAN YOU THINK ,GOOD LUCK!

I am potty training a 2 yr old also, we havent quite mastered it, but I have found something that works. Get rid of diapers( except at night and pooping time) replace with pull ups, find a brand that doesnt feel like a diaper,( very thin and uncomfortable) I got a regualar potty seat that fits on the potty and I have to take him there every 30 min to 45 min. after he has peed in the potty 3 times with out wetting himself he gets to wear big boy underwear.
