I have a little girl who was 2 in November. I am having no luck gtting her potty trained. I have tried EVERYTHING. Rewarding her with things... being excited when she does... scolding her when she doesn't... putting her in Pull-ups... putting her in those thick training panties with the rubber pants... taking her every twenty minutes... etc. She throws fits and refuses. Every once in a while she will tell me she has to go and she will. I am to my wits end... do I just wait til she is ready and tells me? It is just sooo frustrating. Any hints would be greatly appreciated...

What can I do next?

You need to be consistent with all these methods at once, for as long as it takes. Don't plan on leaving the house for about a week. Every 20 min on the potty, no pull-ups or diapers, panty's only. Discipline for fits, but not for accidents until you know she is deliberately not using the potty. Reward going with treat, such as an m&m or chocolate chip. Reward pooping on the potty with something bigger like ice cream. Most of all, plan on not going anywere with her for a week, and only leave her with someone who will be consistent with the methods you are using. I have just finished potty training my daughter who turned 2 on friday, and this is how I had to do it. It sucks, but it will work eventually. Good luck.

Its ok it will come when she wants it to. My son will soon be 3 and he has been potty trained for about 4 weeks. All kids are diffrent but trust me it will happen. I know your frustration. I was tired of buying diapers. Now I just buy pull ups and he wares them at night when he goes to bed. so goodluck. I have always heard that boys are eaiser than girls. I dont know I have 3 boys. ps.. dont waist your money on exspensive potties

Dear N.,
Some people think this is gross, but it works. You let your daughter run around this house naked all day for two days. Keep the potty chair close by if you have one, like in the living room or play room. You will need some carpet cleaner for the accidents. The idea is as soon as you see her peeing you say something like, "oh no, you just tinkled, lets sit on the potty chair. Big Girls tinkle on the potty." You do this every time. The idea is that because they are naked they can not only feel the sensation of having to pee, or poop better, but they can connect the feeling with the wet sensation once it starts to come out. Sometimes that concept can be hard for little children to understand, especially with today's diapers that don't allow them to feel the wet sensation. My daughter isn't at the age to be potty trained yet, but this worked like a charm for a couple of my friends. Her twins were literally potty trained after the two days. Also after the two days you should only let her wear panties. Again if she has an accident she will be much more aware. It may be a bit annoying at first, but a lot less stressful in the long run. Good luck!

I think you should let it go for a while. She could very easily just not be ready yet. She may be feeling a little pressured to do it.
