Potty Training in 3 Days- Is It Possible?

I have been reading online about this 3 day potty training thing. Has anyone done it with sucess? My DD is almost 22 months, interested in the Potty and seems kind of ready. She has gone on the big girl potty 5 times in the last 2 weeks.
I am a full time working mom and would like to get it done. HOwever I am not potty nazi so I am ok with letting her lead if my 3 day attempt doesnt work...I was thinking of starting tomorrow and go til Sunday where she will be bottomless tomorrow and Saturday....giving her lots of fluids so she has lots of opportunties to learn. I am giving her rewards for everytime she goes 2 M&Ms for pee and 5 for Poo . Then SUnday I am going to show her the panties and venture out to the park and for a walk.

Any suggestions or tips? is #2 realistic?? she knows what #2 is but has never complained about having a poopy diaper Last night and tonight after work, I have taken off her bottoms and let her roam around...no accidents but no pee or poo in the potty...its like she held it and then went pee midway through her bath.

What can I do next?

ok,I have successfully potty trained 2,the candy thing works well, but she needs the reward for every attempt. The best attempts are 10 minutes after drinking and the big girl panties are actually a good idea to introduce before going out, while in the house she will feel the wetness on the panties, and everyone knows thats not a comfortable feeling. My rememberance of my training my 8 yr old,we would actually make little certificates of good potty days, and stapled them to a cork board with pics of him growing with the xtra large certificate in the middle of board, that would certify he accomplished the potty and was a big boy now,I told him me and Aunty would sign it when he was going all by himself on the potty, and he would get a big bag of pops.(I gave him pops while he was sitting on potty)(yes he did give up the pops! LOL.Once pee was mastered it took very little time for poop to get conquered!

Not knowing the specific program you're talking about but potty training in general:

It all depends on her nervous system. If it's totally wired and ready to go... she'll be fine. If NOT then it'll create a bunch of drama and emotion around going potty and it'll be a lot longer until she IS capable, because under stress the elimination response is yanked back under the autonomic system (aka it doesn't matter how MUCH a person WANTS to, they can't control it... or no adult would ever be in diapers... wanting to and being capable of it are two entirely different things).

Some kids are honestly ready at 18mo, others not until after age 4. Typically, the rewiring happens sometime during the 2 years of age 2 &3. "Pushing" a child who is not ready, is a nightmare... absolute nightmare.... and a child who is not ready can also be "claimed" to be ready by the (lol, like the phrase) toilet nazi parent. I think we've all see these parents. It's not the child who is monitoring themselves, but the parent who is eagle eyeing the child and whisking them off to the toilet at the first sign of subtle body cues. (Without the parent doing this, the child is completely untrained... aka cannot stay dry with *anyone* else, because their system just isn't wired yet.)

You know your daughter best, if you feel she's ready go ahead (and if she is, yah, it'll take next to no time... you know that your kid was ready if it only takes a couple days). But honestly, do not be afraid to back off with smiles about how WELL she did, if it's failing miserably. Guilt, shame, fear (of disappointment), will drag the process out.

Yes! My son did it! We even took a trip 500 miles exactly 1 week after we started and he had NO accidents the entire trip! I went to bed at the end of the 3rd night thinking it was a failure and when he woke up the next morning he was a pro! We used Lora Jensen's 3 day method. My son has no been potty trained for just over a year, and he has had a few wet accidents but he has NEVER pooped in his underwear since day 2 of the 3 day method. :)

I am a believer. I am going to potty train my daughter the same way this weekend.

My SIL potty trained her daughter in 3 days using this method. Her daughter was almost 3 though. She swears by it. She also has SEVERAL friends who did it, but their kids were older. So when my daughter started showing interest I thought I'd give it a try. It didn't work for us. She was 21 months old. BUT I think the main issue is that I didn't "get rid of" big brother, so we didn't focus as well as we should have. That being said, the book did teach me some things and it did get us started on the right track.

My daughter did it immediately... But, of course, it was her decision... Once she declared no more diapers, there was no turning back! Good luck!

My son did it in 2 days last year at 2 1/2 years old. My husband did most of the work as I had done it with my daughter. He was really easy and was very interested in those "big boy underwear". My husband just kept making him drink all day and he only had 2 accidents over the course of the weekend. He did #1 & #2 both, and has only had a handful of accidents since. She sounds ready - I say go for it!

I have seen what you are talking bout and have tried some of the tips that was given. The one bout letting the child run around in no diapers or panties just loose fitted pants and it worked with my daughter it just took a lil longer then 3 days but she was potty trained within a week. Cuz im also a full time mom and that was the best i could do with no help from the hubby. But also make sure u work with the tip pottying before leaving the house cuz im still having problems with her not telling me she has to go when we are in the truck. But i do wish the best of luck to you.

I've had moms tell me they took their kids through potty boot camp. The thing is ... even after they are potty trained, it doesn't mean there won't ever be any accidents again! So, just make sure your expectations aren't too high.

I used the 3 Day Potty Training by Lora Jensen for my son with great success. My son was 3 1/2 years old though. This philosophy tackles daytime and nighttime all at once. We went cold turkey with no diapers during the day, naps and night time! We were very successful during the day. He was trained for pee and poop almost within the 1st day. You need to be very dedicated and eliminate all other distractions (children, work, etc.) for the full 3 days. My husband and daughter went to visit family for the weekend and I also took 2 days off work. After about 2-3 weeks of me getting up twice during the night to take my son to the potty, I caved and decided to use pull ups at night. It has been about 2 months and most mornings he is dry. I just looked at the 3 Day Potty Training information and it seems that the recommended age is 22 months. My daughter is currently 22 months but I think I am going to wait until at least after the holidays! Good luck!

I did it at 27 months with my DD. She did really great! She got pee trained in 2 days, we're still working on pooping. She's almost 3 now...

I'd recommend buying Lora Jensen's ebook and following it to a T! It worked well for us, but (like another poster said) our little one was 2 1/2. She does say that 22 mos is usually the best age, and she gives some readiness signs to watch for (mostly communication skills, if I remember right). Hope it goes well; try to enjoy 3 days of being VERY focused on your child!

By the time my son was 2 he was peeing half the time and pooping almost every time in the potty, so once we went to undies it took 2 days. If they understand how to use the potty right training can go easy, but once you put them in undies, do not go back. The first day my son had 13 accidents and was asking for his pull up back. I said no, and the next day he had 2 accidents.

It's possible, but you have to be super motivated and prepared and she has to be ready.
