So I was wonder what seems to be the norm when it comes to potty training.

How long after your child started using the potty to pee consistently did they try and learn to go poop?

My daughter has been perfect going pee for 3 weeks without accidents but wont poop.

What can I do next?

It just depends on the kid. My first daughter did both (poop and pee) no problem right at the age of 2. I'm potty training my 2nd daughter now. It has been 4 days and she has only pooped in the potty once and I can tell she's scared about it. So I know she will take longer than my first to master the pooping. But just keep working at it. She will get it.

Never had an issue with pooping with any of my kids....

IMO, it makes a huge difference if you go straight to undies instead of pull-ups or staying with the diaper...and don't go back and forth.

Somehow, with all three of my daughters, they all pooped either on the same day or one or two days after peeing first in the toilet. They all caught on to potty training quickly, and there wasn't much of a difference with peeing and pooping. They all fully trained within a week of first trying to train them.

This may be TMI... This little girl I used to be a nanny to had a much harder time getting used to pooping in the toilet. She also always had hard poops. My children have hardly ever had hard poops. Maybe it wasn't a problem with my children because it didn't require as much effort to poop. I always took it as that. My kids' poops are always "formed" but soft. They have a well-balanced diet. The girl I used to watch did not have a well balanced diet. Maybe some prune or apple juice can help her get used to pooping in the toilet. This is just a thought to consider....

It all depends on the child. My situation will differ from yours and while it may have taken a few weeks longer to get my LO pooping in the potty, it may take your LO longer or shorter. Here are some potty training tips I recommend you check out:

DS did them both at the same time. He actually had more pee accidents (running around and wouldn't stop to go, probably 3 or 4 the first month, 2 in the year after that) than poop accidents (I think 2 after the first week). He trained at 26 months.

Mine trained for both at the same time and actually was faster with no accidents with poop than pee. I think he had one #2 accident only and he was so grossed out about the feeling it in his undies he just never did it again. It seems like when I was reading on this subject that it was more common to learn #2 second but for us we just did it all at the same time.

My son was peeing and pooping in the potty basically at the same time. I don't remember there being a separation between the two.

about 3 weeks after she was peeing in the toilet.

One thing you may try is each time she's on the toilet have her push out a fart. It worked for us. It will get her used to working those muscles on cue.

My son (2 weeks short of age 3) has been peeing on the potty pretty consistently for about a month. Pooping is another story. In the past week, he has been much better, but we still have an accident every few days (pee too). It probably took him 2 weeks to really be able to recognize when he needed to poop, and he didn't always make it in time. Now he usually realizes when he needs to go, unless he's really involved in whatever he's playing.

Mine potty trained with both at the time of potty training. I didn't split the it up pee first then poop. They usually poop around the same time each day catch that time of day, and reward her. it's that simple. J.
