My sister is a teacher and her best gifts are certificates to target, dunkin donuts etc. She doesn't need anymore lotion and she is too afraid to eat anything homemade.
I was just wondering what some other moms have given as an end of the year gift for a pre-school teacher. My son is finishing up his year and I am looking for some great ideas. The moms on here never let me down.
Thanks

One year I wrapped a ribbon around some bath and body lotion and body spray. Kids on the bus give me candles or gift certificates.
Our class recently did a group gift. It was great. We made a bouquet of paper flowers, the centers were a picture of each child from the class, put the flowers into a potted fern with floral wire and made extra flowers that held gift cards(Starbucks and Barnes and Noble). I got the idea from the Family Fun magazine and it was easy. We pooled the funds and were able to get her nice sized gift cards.
A few suggestions...
A card made by your son, with a thank you written by you
A gift card (Target, Walmart, a local restaurant, book store)
Homemade baked goods
first, check what your school's policy is for teacher gifts--they may allow group gifts but not personal ones.
what my class did as a holiday teacher gift for our preschool teachers would make a great end of year gift as well--we took a class picture, and i went on shutterfly and made it into an apron--but you could also do a tote bag. A nice memento that's not too flashy and won't take up too much room in a teacher's apt.
Usually there is a collection from the Class Mother (if you have one)...and since I always contribute to that, I usually just get a bottle of wine from just my kid. I always get a HUGE thank you and hug and kiss for that! If not, I'm sure gift cards are always appreciated, because how many coffee mugs and flowers do they need?
We gave a gift card for Starbucks. The teacher seemed to be pretty excited about it.
Teachers often buy their own supplies. If you know a book the teacher would like for the class that's good. Or new crayons, construction paper, stickers etc. Gift cards to a supply store, book store, or coffee shop if you want something more personal. I would not go for body stuff or candles unless you know for sure the teacher uses them. I often get them from clients but am allergic so I give them to my mom.
Pedicure or massage
In our class, we collected money from the parents and gave a group gift card. I also will typically get a Barnes & Nobles gift card for the teachers and aides.
A donation gift for the classroom.
Preschool Teachers often do not have generous salaries.
Honestly, I would give a gift card. Preschool teachers make notoriously low salaries and would probably appreciate being able to get themselves something - whether it's from a department store, a restaurant, etc. They don't need the cutesy mugs and picture frames and knick knacks that a lot of people seem to buy for them.
Good luck. I hope that your son had a wonderful year at preschool.
This year I made lemon bars (Foodnetwork online, recipe by the Barefoot Contessa) and bought nice floral gift bags and individual tupperware containers at Target to put them in. I had my son pick out the thank you cards and will help him fill them out. I figured they probably get so many gifts and 'teacher' knick knacks that they don't know what to do with so I thought something edible would be better. For his last year of pre-school I gave each of his teachers a small potted flower with cards which I thought was also a good idea. Good luck!
I gave my sons preschool teacher and aide gift cards. Just to be sure that I got one that they could use - I asked them what each other liked. I have also given candles with notecards with their inital on it to teachers.
In our class, all the parents pooled their money and we got them a gift certificate for a massage or facial.
I also wanted to give them a gift just from us. I got 2 terra cotta pots and then my son painted them. He then made these guitar stickers (he's obsessed with guitars). I glued the guitar and their name on the pots and also made them tissue paper flowers.

Wind Chimes! Pretty and goes outside and not a dust collector!
my son's class pooled money and got their preschool teacher a gift card to a spa!!
