Pre-teen Party Favors?

My daughter is turning 12 in a few weeks and we'll be celebrating w/ a party at the park. She loves dogs so it'll be somewhat dog-themed but I can't decide on what to send home with the kids. I think they're still young enough to enjoy party favors but don't want to send them home w/ a bag of useless and expensive junk that they will end up tossing out. Any ideas on useful and not-too-expensive party favors for the 12 year old crowd? :-)

Middle school girls love bright, inexpensive jewlery. Check out what Walmart has to offer. Another idea would be large drinking mugs for cold beverages. You might even find ones with animals on them! Good luck with the party. It sounds like it will be fun!

Frames and then mail them a thank you, witten on the back of the photo from the party.

Gather them all together and take some photos during the party that way you will have choices.

Jewelry is a cute idea, most girls do love that stuff. I was going to suggest getting a dog bone shaped cookie cutter and just doing a little bag of cookies to send home. I have done it with smooshing chocolate chip dough into a jelly roll pan, baked it, and cut it out with the bone cookie cutter. It was fast and easy! You could also do sugar cookie dough and get a frosting tube and write each girl's name on the top. They also make dog bone candies which are like sweet tarts and you can throw some of those in the bottom. Viola! Related to a theme but still fun and practical for a 12 y/o!

most Wal Marts have a dog tag making machine. You could make personalized tags for everyone. there are cute styles. my 13yo stilll begs me for them when we go. she and all of her friends love to personalize anything.
