I am expecting twins in Feb, maybe sooner. I know they like to come early. I am trying to find the Carter brand preemie cloths. Since my husband is in the Military we are stationed in Okinawa Japan so the only place to shop her is at the BX and of course they dont have any. So I have been trying to find some online. Not be very lucky with that. I really like the way the Carter's fit and are usually good priced. Thanks.

What can I do next?

A.,
There are many places to shop in and around any post/base you are at in Japan. The culture is to bargin with their customers so don't even feel obligated to pay the full price, unless you are at a department store. The Japanesse have to cloth their babies as well, so just look around while you can, if you still can. You will probably find better deals outside the post, just becuase you can bargin.
Otherwise, Wal-Mart online as well as Toys-R-Us will ship OCONUS and carry Carters. Have you tried the Carters website? The BX does carry Carter's but they carry very little in the way of Preemie.
Good Luck.

Hi A.,
I am on Okinawa as well!!! I have seen some preemie clothes over at the PX on Camp Foster (where I am), but not very much. You could also try some of the other PX's on island. Kinser, Courtney, Hansen all have a PX as well. Congrats on the twins, but also remember that your twins could weigh enough to not need preemie clothes. You still have a few months to go, so you never know!!! I didn't think my second child was going to be as big as she was, but in my last month with her, she got big. Well big in my opinion. So keep in mind that yes, some people deliver twins early and they are sometimes under weight, but I have known some people, including family members, who have had perfectly normal birth weight twins. So you might not want to buy too many preemie clothes, but if you do, make sure to keep your receipts :)!!! Congrats again, and may you have two beautiful, healthy babies!!! I wasn't able to find many Carter's brand things, but I hope this helps. http://www.preemiestore.com/

Hi A., congrats on the twins! I have a set of 14 mo boy/girl twins. They're so much fun! You are in for a ride.

I found Carter's preemie clothes at babiesrus.com. I also got some great stuff at babygap.com. To be perfectly honest, my twins stayed in pajamas for a long time. You just don't leave the house as often and when you do, you just prioritize differently and the outfits don't seem to matter. So, I'd invest in a few sturdy preemie items, but they'll soon outgrow them and you can move on. Have you tried your base thrift shop or airman's attic? Just some thoughts. Do you have some help lined up? I underestimated the necessity for that and did it all alone for the 1st 4 months until I was out of my mind with exhaustion. I finally hired a babysitter to come in 2 mornings/week so I could grocery shop and run errands. It made all the difference. Even if only to take a nap, it's worth it. Good luck!

Have you tried Ebay? They have many sellers who ship to APO addresses. I was able to find tons of bargains when my daughter was little. Do a search for "preemie lot" or "Carters preemie." Best wishes to you!
