Hi Ladies, I hace a friend who did a pregnancy test this weekend, and she said the you are pregnant line is faint. What does that mean. Pregnant ot not pregnant.? Thanks everyone's advice is appreciated.
Well Guess what - all of you were right. She is pregnant. She had a blood test done by her OB and it confirmed that she is pregnant. She is excited. And the biggest thing is her conception date is her wedding date. Very cool. It was exactly what she wanted.
I'm going to say pregnant, but you may wish to advise her retest in a couple of days...
Even if the pregnant/not pregnant line is really faint, you are totally pregnant! Of course I can't be 100% positive for her situation, but I always took my tests several days early, and the line was always REALLY faint. I was pregnant all 3 times!
A positive line is a positive line, no matter how faint, as long as she read it during the time frame specified in the instructions.
I would imagine the faint preg test would be a NOT pregnant...because it has the capability to show a line- she may be just seeing it dampened, but not indicated.
BTW, Tell her to TEST AGAIN- the "dollar tree" sells PTs for one dollar- at the register! Then she can know one way or the other right away!

a faint line doesn't mean pregnant. i would wait until at least 2 weeks after your missed period to take a test. Good luck on baby #2
ANY line in the positive part of the test means you are pregnant...EVEN A FAINT ONE! However, if she wants to be abosolutely sure before calling the doc and making the big announcement, she can always retest. Good luck and God bless!
She is preggo! There are no false positives on those things....she needs to take the test first thing in the morning when there are more hormones in her urine - she'll get two lines that way! I suggest the digital ones though...you can get store brand for the same price as the others.
Like I told my husband when we took our first pregnacy test with a faint line. A LINE IS A LINE. Ha! We also waited a few days and took another test to be sure. The line was much darker the second time.
Well to be honest I would say YES BIG TIME lol That is how it was with both of mine VERY VERY light to where I thought I was seeing things lol. My first 1 was planned and sec 1 was the one that was WHAT OMW you are JOKING .lol Love him to death but WOW they give the run for our money big time lol...
My pregnancy test was a faint line then a few days later it was very bright. It means there were trace amounts and that it is positive.
When I was pregnant with my daughter, my line on the pregnancy test was very light, so I'd say maybe.

DEFINITELY PREGNANT - any positive line at all.... even faint is a positive. Congrats!
There is a very slight chance that the test is negative ONLY if the faint line is gray. This is a faulty test. But, those happen so infrequently. I believe it is safe to say that she is pregnant. :) I took a test a few weeks ago and the line was SO faint my husband and I both had trouble seeing it until an hour or so later (I took the test in a gas station bathroom and just took it out to the car with me right after instead of waiting and throwing it away).
YES...even a faint line is a positive result. When I was pregnant the line was so faint you almost couln't see it. But I WAS prego and a very faint line is a positive result.
I would suggest she wait a few more days and test again, first thing in the morning. Chances are if she got a faint line, then it's a positive. I would say check again just to be on the safe side. She can also call her doctor and have blood work done.
Sounds like preggers, but I'd do another test to be sure.
Probably positive. The best way is to have bloodwork done by her doc. But, just retest in a couple days with first morning pee.
If there is a line present at all.....dark OR faint....it is positive. She's gonna have a baby!
I have had 4 pregnancies and two of them had very faint lines so in my case if there is a line she is pregnant - she could take it again in a few days when she pees in the morning as they say that is the strongest of the day.
If I was her, I would re-do it and do it 1st thing in the morning.
When I got pregnant, my 1st test was on an afternoon and the line was faint; next morning it was pretty clear.

It could be. I had two that were reaaly faint and then the next one was extremely positive. I would recommend her take another one. This time when she does the test have her take it in the morning. The horomones are strongest in the morning. Hope this helps
It means you're pregnant. Rarely are there false positives as the test is specific for a hormone in urine after implantation. Follow up with a visit to the OB for a 48 hour blood test to be sure.
I would say pregnant. I think any line is an indication.
If she hasn't missed her period yet, take another one after that.
If you're not, nothing will show. It's early, but yes, you're positive!!!
I had the same problem last week. The line that goes up to make the plus sign is really light. wait about 3-4 days and try again. It may just be too early and not enough hormones in the urine. I waited a week, very nervously, and tried again. Yep, I'm pregnant.
