I've never had this problem before, but suddenly my feet have been so sore and tired at the end of the day. I have varied my shoes, gone with socks, only gym shoes, etc. and nothing helps. I am desperate to find a GOOD pair of supportive and cushioned sandals for the summertime and figured who would know better than all of you!
I was hoping for "slides" or quick-on type sandals versus "cheap" flip flops. Everything I've seen is flimsy and has no cushion or arch support. HELP!

I wear Tevas pretty much any time there's not snow on the ground (including through two pregnancies.) They aren't slip-on but it's just a velcro strap, very easy. Very cushioned and supportive.
Fit Flops! I love them. You can get them at Dick's.
I LOVE my Croc flip flops! I got them at Dicks Sporting Goods. They are very comfortable and provide nice cushy support. I wear them everywhere!
I had the same problem but never found a solution. I am also having that problem now post pregnancy. I would recommend going to The Walking Company and trying on the different shoes they have. They also have this really cool machine that tests how your center of balance is when you are standing as well as if you have an arch, which might be contributing to the problem.
But from the research i did while pregnant, people have liked Danskos, Chacos, Crocs, and Birkenstocks.
I have a pair of Dansko sandals that I bought 5 years ago- super comfy and they still look like new (of course they are $$$$$$$). I also second the recommendation for Keen shoes- I have several pairs and love them too although they do not outlast my Danskos. I also wear Danskos for work and they are fabulous.
Clarks are good sandals, but they are not cheap. I got a pair that they made under the brand Springers and they were heavenly!
I can't wear flip flops very long at all because they have no support. I have Keens which are also good and Tevas as well as the Clarks.
I love Clarks clogs. I wore them through my last pregnancy and before and really one pair I had specifically was the only thing that felt good on my feet during my last pregnancy. It is black leather and has a high wedge for a clog.
I wore a pair of Crocs sandals all summer last year when I was pregnant with my daughter. They were really comfortable and I think they have good arch support. They make some pretty cute ones too. I know that they have a Crocs outlet in the Aurora outlet mall. I haven't been there, but a few friends said you can get them for about half the price of retail. Good luck!
I love my Keen sandals!! I think they are more comfortable than my athletic shoes and they offer a bunch of different styles, including mules. Keen is pricier than anything you can find at Target (etc.), but I think they are worth every penny. Good luck finding something you like -- your poor feet deserve it!!!
Danskos are by far the best...also the most expensive too. Really worth the money though. When I was pregnant I could only wear uggs(yucky) and danskos.
You might want to see if there is a place called 'The Walking Store' near you. I know they have several shops in various malls around the Chicagoland area.
When I was pregnant the first time I bought my shoes there and it helped. This time around, I too will soon be looking for sandals/mary janes!
Birkenstocks....there is a store in Crystal Lake. Tradewinds on RT. 14.
I was also going to suggest Keen, or merrell - their clogs are great, too, and have arch support. Both of those brands are fairly reasonable (probably in the 50-70 range.) I'd go to a good shoe store and try on a few styles.
Also, get some arch support inserts (at the drugstore are fine) and wear those around the house. I like being barefoot, but when I was pregnant I had to have more support when on my feet.
I just bought a pair of Nike Comfort sandals and I wear them every day. I run a daycare and take alot of walks with the kids, park outings, etc....They cost me about $25 on sale at Kohl's. There are alot of other sandals there too reasonably priced.
