Pregnant Belly Support?

I am 22 weeks pregnant with my third and I am already feeling big. I have heard about belly bands or support straps to help distribute the weight and make this baby easier to carry around. Has anyone used one of these, what was the name of it and do you think it helped? Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

Hi C.,

I am 7 mos pregnant and the things that have helped me are:

Highwaisted maternity pants with the large panel in front for baby--it gives extra support.
bella band---

there is also another support band that you can get at motherhood maternity that you velcro around and that helps some. But its not as comfortable as just wearing supportive pants.

underwear-hipsters style helps a bit to give support as well.

Best wishes and hope this helps~

I'm lucky to work in a store that sells several! Since I have access to several types, I have tried many. I'm 34 weeks along now, and have been playing around with them since about 10 weeks along.

I agree-the Bella Band feels nice for light support. I also have tried Preggers Maternity hose and tights. You don't feel too much support right when you put them on, but I at the end of a few hours, I can tell a positive difference.

The Boppy one is okay, but not all that comfortable. Medela also makes one that is more comfortable, but not as supportive (kind of like wearing an ace bandage). Belly Bandit has a new prenatal support called the Upsie. This is the most comfortable one I have found. Feels luxurious and nice to have on, plus provides good support. But the most supportive is from Gabrialla. It's not as soft as the Upsie, but more adjustable and supportive, so really does the job well.

And yes, I will say they make a difference.

I bought one of those wrap arounf things that velcros from babys r us. I found it to be very comfortable and incredibly helpful as I worked in a pharmacy and was on my feet all day. I would say buy one, try it out for a few days! Good Luck!!

I really liked the boppy one. You can get it at babiesrus. It does double duty by supporting during pregnancy and holding muscles back in place after delivering by flipping in upside down and backwards!

I never poke too far out front, but definitely needed a little something last time around, especially when working out...I got an Amon maternity band and loved it! It's not one of those heavy duty industrial strength suckers, but provided plenty of support under and on the lower part of my belly and was a little less tightly knit around the front and top of my belly to allow more room to grow.

I'm afraid it was long enough ago that I no longer remember the name, but I did use a simple belly band near the end of each of my pregnancies, and it did help.
