Hello C.,
You sure are going to get alot of advice from people about what to eat and what not to eat, what to do and what not to do. I can only say with each of my pregancies I ate what I wanted, when I wanted and did what I wanted. And all 3 of my children and pregnancies were fine. I worked out through all of my pregnancies also, but if you never worked out before I don't recommend you start with anything to crazy. Prenatal Yoga and Swimming are great exercies to do while pregnant. I can say though don't go crazy eating, like your eating for two. (That is an old wives tale). For a better understanding of what good foods to eat as your OB Doctor. Only she can give you the right answers!! Congradulations and Good Luck :-)

I had my first baby about 8 month ago. When I was pregnant, everything went crazy with me. No one can really tell you what to expect as far as morning sickness and mood swings. Everyone has different symptoms. A great book to read is, "What to Expect When You're Expecting". It really helped me out. Good Luck and enjoy your pregnancy. You have a beautiful gift.

I have 2 kids and I never followed a certain diet (although I am sure it would not have hurt). I would just continue to eat the way you are used to and take your vitamins they are important. Another important thing is enjoy it your only pregnant for the first time once and it can be such a great experience if you relax and let it happen. Good luck!

Camilla,

Colleen is right. Eat what you normally eat. Don't go crazy because it may be hard to get the wieght off after the baby is born. The only thing my Dr told me to be careful of is tuna--due to the mercury in it but a little bit every once in while is fine.

Congrats on your pregnancy and good luck to you.

Check out the book "What To Expect When You're Expecting". It has every topic you can think of and it is in month to month format. Actually I have the entire series of "What to Expect...." even the pregnancy diary. This diary was perfect for me to keep any details of my pregnancy, any questions I needed to ask the doctor, and alot more. I even bought one for my second pregnancy!
