Pregnant? It's Early, but I Spotted... Barely...

Hi, moms...
I am 40, have 2 children. I missed my period on Aug. 31. I took two tests the following week ( 2 days apart) and both were positive (light pink, but pink nonetheless). On Sept. 10th I woke in the a.m. and when I went to the restroom, there was a small (maybe hmmm 1/4 tsp?) of bright pink blood. None after or since then. If not pregnant, I should start my period on the 28th of Sept.

With all of your experiences out there, I thought maybe some of you could tell me if it sounds like I am still pregnant? I have no history of miscarriages or complications, and it is VERY possible for me to be pregnant (hey... fancy dinner out, weekend at a hotel without kids... heheh)

Any input would be appreciated.. thank you!
L.

I spotted the first month with 2 of my 3 pregnancies. They are all here and doing well! From what I've researched, it's common for women to spot when implantation occurs, which is about 4 weeks.

CONGRATULATIONS! There's nothing better than a blessing of a baby!

I had the same thing - it could be that the baby was attaching to the uterus wall. My baby is now 2 months old.

Sounds to me like your pregnant. It's normal for some people to bleed a little bit. Go see your doctor to find out for sure.

I think with a miscarriage there's a lot more than spotting. Never had one, but I've heard. I'd set up a drs apt and all and have everything checked out to be sure nothing's wrong. Probably light spotting may be normal. I've never had that either while pregnant, but I dunno. Definately see a doctor though anyways.

Hi L.,
From what I have read, the spotting could have been implantation bleeding. The timeframe you described is about the time when that would happen. Have you heard of it? I bled quite a bit around that time when I was pregnant. In fact, I ended up going to the ER because I was scared that I was miscarrying. I regret going though, because they couldn't help me or tell me whether I was losing the baby or not. At any rate. I have gone on to give birth to a beautiful baby girl. She's 4 months now. If you haven't already, google implantation bleeding and see what you think.
Good luck,
V.

If you've taken 2 test and they both came up positive then your pregnant and while the blood could have been plantation bleeding which is normal, it might not be. I also had no history of miscarriages and my pregnancy with my son was perfect...no problems at all not even morning sickeness. I found out i was pregnant this last April and had an ultrasound a 7 weeks, i began spotting and it was never a lot, it was never bright red, and it was only maybe a couple times a week. I didn't go to the Dr. because i couldn't yet(due to insurance) and i figured everything was ok because it was never bright red actual blood. 6 weeks later at 13 weeks pregnant i woke up to bright red blood like a period and went to the ER to find out my baby didn't make it. I'm not telling you this to sound negative or scare you. I just really would advise you to go to your Dr., verify that you are pregnant and find out what is going on. I hope everything works out.

What you found may very well have been implantation bleeding. It happens sometimes when the egg settles itself into the uterus...and it's completely normal! I'm pregnant and with my HPT I originally read it as a no...and then re-checked half a second later as my husband said "Are you sure??" (I guess I was a little moody, lol) and it was pale, but it was there! Go have your midwife/OB test you and let you know for sure!

Good luck!

well, girl, it sounds like youre preggers, but won't know for sure until you missed there is a pregnancy test you can take without having to wait for a missed period, very expensive and it can be purchased at tjhe grocery store i saw them in albertson, but they have that stuff locked.

Please go to the doctor so you can know for sure. While it is true that a lot of women spot during pregnancy, it could also be the beginning of a miscarriage. I hate to sound negative, but it's better to be on the safe side. I had a miscarriage, and there was only a little bit of blood. I thought it was supposed to be very obvious, but it wasn't.
Good luck, and I truly hope that you are pregnant!

Many women spot in the first trimester of pregnancy - I did on a regular basis until I was about 5 months pregnant (but because I have placenta previa). Its a pretty common and normal occurance, so chances are, you ARE still pregnant!
Go to your doctor and have a blood test, and then you will know FOR SURE.

Congratulations!

I spotted when I was pregnant with my son, who is now 9. Yes, you are definately pregnant. Spotting is normal especially when the egg implants itself to the uterine wall. Have your OB check to make sure everything is fine.
