I am one that also have children really close in age. I have 2 girls that are 14 months apart. They are now 7 and 6. It was really rough the first couple of years, but there was one thing that really helped me. I was given a double stroller by my mother after about 6 weeks of having the younger sister--that made a world of difference. I was able to get out of the house by myself and not have to wait for someone to get a free moment to come and help. I could get to the grocery store and still get things (as long as I only got what would fit under the stroller). It is rough, but it is so worth it. I love having the girls that close. They share clothes as they are the same size. They play with each other and watch out for each other too. When they were younger it was nice because when the older one grew out of clothes, I usually could just pass them right down to the younger one and not have to put them away. I was a little different though as my girls weren't my first and second children...they were my 3rd and 4th. Congratulations on the new baby and good luck. I can share more if you have more questions, just PM me.

My boys are 13 months apart and I would not have it any other way! Believe me, it is tough in the beginning when they are both little, but as they pass milestones and get older it is really great. My boys are really close and were built in friends and playmates for each other. They are now 15 and 16 years old and are so different, but still are very close. I love having them this close in age even though it is a lot of work in the beginning. Just don't be shy about asking for help when you need it during the pregnancy and as you raise them through the first years. Take rest when you can get it and accept help when people offer. I have such wonderful memories of my boys growing up close in age, and I think you will too with your little ones!

First of all, Congratulations!!!! This is wonderful news. I'm sure it's pretty oveewheling to imagine another baby so soon. It took you 3 years to have your first baby and you didn't even have to try for this one. What a blessing. My boys are 19 mos apart and I wouldn't have it any other way!!! They are still young (19 mos and 3 years old), but they are super close.
Try not to stress, it isn't good for you or the baby. Good luck!!

Congrats! Your kids will be close and you will be ccrazy for a while but it will be nice they will have each other to play with! A friend of mine had hers 14 mos apart and she made it through the first year with 2 and loves that her kids are sooo close and they are boy and girl. Don't worry God gave you two babies and it was meant to be.

Congrats! Our girls are 14.5 months apart - I got pregnant right around the same time you did. We decided to start trying for the second and figured it would take some time, it didn't! That first year is really hard. BUT, I found that as soon as my little one was walking really steadily on her feet, it turned into so much fun for our whole family. The girls are best friends and I really have it easier now (they are 2.5 and 3.5) than many of my friends with larger spacing because they play together all the time. Feel free to pm me with any questions. You'll do great and your daughter is going to be a wonderful big sister!

Awe congrats. Don't feel bad my son was 5 months old when we found out in Sept. I am pregnant with number two. But we were trying for another baby. I can feel with not having a lot of family and friends around. My husband is in the army and we just moved to South Korea so no family will be here with us when we have baby number two. Don't worry things work out for the best. Good luck if you would like to ask any other questions please feel free to PM me.

One of my co-workers had their second baby almost exactly 9 months after their first. It is a shock for sure. Let yourself think and feel whatever way comes to your mind. It is soon but it will be OK. Some people prefer that their babies be close together. There are advantages as well as disadvantages. Unless you believe in abortion this is the way it's going to be for you.

Allow yourself to feel both the negative and positive thoughts that come into your mind. Cry and laugh. It will be OK.

Be happy about it. You had a fertility problem and now you have the other type being too fertile. Your children will be very close in age and that will be h*** o* you the first couple of years. Be thankful that you will have two during this span when you are very fertile. It could revert to difficulty getting pregnant again.
Many times when a couple has fertility problems they conceive under a favorable astrological transit. Sometimes such transits are 16 years apart.
Eat well. Get a goodly amount of rest by napping when you child naps and get plenty of exercise.
If anyone chides you about having your babies so close together just tell them how rude it is as they don't know your actual situation. You don't owe anyone an explanation for having a second child.

It is going to be AMAZING!! I have 2 that are 14 months apart and a 3rd that is 3 years from the middle one and I would give anything to make the gap between my 2nd and 3rd smaller. They will go through things in pretty much the same stages and will be so close!! The first year is a little hard but then after that its awesome! Mine are 5 and 6 now and I love love love it. Congrats girly, what a blessing!

Congrats! My boys are 35 months old and 17 months old and my daughter will be here in less than two weeks...it is a lot of work having so many little ones at the same time, but it is totally worth it. My husband and I spent over two years trying before we got baby #1, so then we just used the 'when it happens it happens' method for the other two. We will have 3 under 3 for a few weeks, but I can't wait. I am however looking forward to getting my oldest out of diapers asap, those suckers are getting expensive :-). I would highly recommend getting a double stroller, it makes shopping trips and outings much easier.

P.S. My sister and I are 11 months apart and even though we fought a ton as kids, I absolutely love that we are so close in age!

you can do it, it will all fall into place easier than it did with the first one. I got pregnant with #3 when #2 was only 2 1/2 months old. I had #3 when #2 was only 11 1/2 monthes old. They are best of friends now :) it was so easy to get rid of bottles at the same time, diapers at the same time... everything. The only hard part was having one that walked, one that crawled and didn't walk yet and a newborn while going places. Having to carry two babies and try to hang on to a 3 yr old got crazy sometimes! Don't worry and have fun with it :) Congrats!

I got pregnant 9 months after my first was born, so just when we got "easier" I was surprised to learn it was going to get hard all over again! But we adjusted to the idea, you have 9 months to prepare yourself! And you won't have forgoten everything about newborns by the time your second one is here!

One thing that may save you some money is to invest in good quality cloth diapers, they are expensive to start out, but they will definitely pay for themselves, especially with two so close, that they will both still be in diapers for a while now.

You can do it! They will be best friends! And just think you will be all done with the sleepless nights much faster then people with kids a few years apart!
