I just found out that I am 30 weeks pregnant with my third child. I had no idea I was pregnant and I went in to have the my Mirena IUD checked. I was getting ready to enter the teaching credential program and didn't want any surprises. Well, guess what - My little surprise is coming in about 2 months and I had no idea. I am in total shock. I would like to hear from some people who had successful pregnancies with an IUD in. I don't think they will opt to take it out because I am so far along.

Congrats! My mom got preg w/ my sis although she had an IUD. My sis has always been healthy~physically and mentally. Good luck!

I don't have any words of advice for you about having a baby with an IUD. But I can sympathize with the not knowing that you were pregnant part.
I am pregnant with my 4th child and didn't know until I was 14 weeks. My husband and I were using birth control too. We were quite shocked as well.
My hope is that your baby is developing normally and everything else will go smoothly. These babies were determined to be here and I guess this is what was meant to be. This will be a good story to look back on one day and laugh about with your child. Try to relax and enjoy it.

Hello M., I just wanted to let you know that my mom Got pregnant with an IUD in, they just left it in until I was born and now here it is, 25 years later and I'm fine :). I'm really susprised that you had no idea that you were pregnant until now. You didn't feel your baby move? I'm susprised too cause I would think that you would be showing by now. I got pregnant with an IUD 22 years ago. The doctor told me some scarry things about being pregnant. No problems here though, My daughter pushed the IUD out to make room for her. I had a normal pregnancy with no complications.
She was an early child so you might want to keep an eye out for that.

Sometimes those very unexpected surprises are the most wounderful miracle in your life.I had a chance to deliver a healthy baby with the IUD in his hand many years ago as a midwife in london.Also I have taken care of patients pregnant with IUD in place and never seen complications so far yet.the IUD is removed only early pregnancy but in your case you are already well advanced.I am surprised that you did not feel your baby moving to know you can be pregnant,yes nothing is 100%.one women out of 1000 using mirena for one year will get pregnant,however I will not use IUD as BCM again if I were you as it failed in your case.There is small chance of infection with IUD in place or early pregnancy there is 50% risk of spont abortion,but you are now 30 weeks and doing well.please let me know about your outcome and delivery.I wish you best of luck.
WOW!!! Congratulations are you little miracle, what a blessing huh she definitly wanted to be born..... I was actually supposed to get an IUD today but cancelled bcuz i was not ready yet, they say it's 100% too.(not quite) =)

I just wanted to say you have been blessed, and YES the third baby is a HUGE adjustment and worth every bit of it! I had my first two children with ALOT of help with fertility pills/shots/in vitro and my third little blessing was a birth control (the pill) baby! Now my two youngest are only 14 months apart and I think we even surprised the doctor who helped get us pregnant the other times :) But now my baby is about to be 3! So enjoy being pregnant for the next 8+ weeks and always remember that you have been giving a gift that you did not know you wanted until it arrived! Bless all of you!
