We are planning to send our daughter to pre school when she turns 4, one year from now. Where did you go in the mokena area and what was your experience like? Days and times may be an issue due to work schedules and grandma not driving. We don' t know much about the whole process. Thanks.

What can I do next?

Mokena... Immanual Lutheran, Marley and St. John's are schools in which I know people have sent their children too. For Fall of 2011, registration will begin in January 2010 so be sure to do your visits prior to January as spots do fill up fast :) Good luck.

I have my daughter's OT raving about Kids and Company- they are affiliated with United Methodist church in New Lenox.

I have also have had great responses about parkview church/ preschool in Orland Park.

At the age of two, my older son started at Mary Sears, which has a great curriculum but high teacher turnover rate (3 teachers that year). He then went to St. Andrew's, but I wasn't impressed with their curriculum. It seemed like a glorified daycare service. When he was four we found Bobbie Noonan. Wow--the things they learn at that school! We were so impressed that when he went on to Kindergarten we started my little guy there as well when he turned two. It is a little pricier, but they do learn alot. My boys are now entering 2nd and 5th grade and read at 4th and 8th grade levels, respectively. My oldest is also an honors student and my little guy is well on his way. I always have worked with them and read to them, but the difference in what they were exposed to from the other two schools is amazing. Plus many of the teachers are older, love what they do and have been doing it for awhile.
