Hi. What does your child need for pre-school?
What does your particular school request?
My kids weren't asked to bring anything, other than a lunch and an extra set of clothes (which were kept on site, in case they were needed, and they never were needed.)
I think it depends if your child is there all day or not. My son goes to preschool 4 days a week for 2 1/2 hours. I send him with an appropriately sized backpack, a snack, a thermos with water, and a change of clothes. Seriously...what is all that stuff??? If your kid is there all day then I would ask the teachers what they reccomend bringing not a website that is trying to sell you lots of stuff.
Why did you take the link out? Where you afraid that it would get pulled by the administrator?
Looks like a good list of over-priced basics...I think that $38 for what is really a glorified set of PJs is insane. Just take something that's already stained or less than perfect and put it in a gallon-size Ziploc bag. Yay - it's free! Also, the nap mat isn't necessary either - they usually have a mat and you just supply a sheet and/or blanket, using old crib sheets and a blanket you child already uses and loves so that he or she has something from home.
My daughter needed 2 complete changes of clothes (shirt, pants, underwear, socks) labeled with her name. A towel and sunblock, and a blanket & pillow for nap time (all labeled with her name). My child goes to all day preschool, so if you are doing just a few hours a day you might not need all this. The school provides all the supplies (crayons, markers, art supplies) and I pay a 'supply fee' to cover all that.
At orientation they will tell you what you need. Good luck.
A backpack that will hold a folder, snack, and change of clothes is all my son requires. The school does send a list of items the classroom needs twice a year so you can donate but you dont have to. It really just depends on your child's school.
Well, that depends. If he/she is going to an actual school, they may have a list of items that they need. I teach preschool in-home and all I ask is that they bring crafting supplies (glue, stickers, crayons, etc.) if they happen to find them on sale. They bring extra panties, a change of clothes and I provide their folders.
If you want to know what the teacher may want/need:
Glue sticks
A TON of construction paper
markers
crayons,
googly eyes
hand sanitizer
hand soap
tissues
wipies (we go through these like CRAZY!)
A change of clothes, including underwear, labeled with your child's name.
Other than that, you only need what your school asks for, which might be crayons, markers, glue sticks, kitchen supplies, etc.
If your school doesn't provide snacks, plan to provide a healthy snack for your child each day. Ditto for lunch. Full day schools may require sleep mats, blankets, pillows, etc.
Bottom line - you need to find out from your school what is required, and a lot depends on your child's schedule (full vs half day, lunch or no lunch at school, etc) As long as you have the change of clothes, the school will tell you the rest.
