With my 2nd child I wnet into labor at 37 weeks and my son weighed 7lbs8oz. My third child I went into labor at 36 weeks and she weighed 7lbs1oz. The doctors decided that she was too alert and had to have had my due date wrong.

Now I am 35 weeks pregnant and at 33 weeks I went into labor and they stopped it. I'm also on pericardia every 4 hours until 36 weeks. I was 1 cm dilated and 50%effaced. Last week I was 2cm and still 50%

My question is it possible they have my due date wrong again? That question never crossed
My mind before last night when my mom said "I think they have your due date wrong again if you make it 5 more weeks you will
explode you are so big. How would it even be possible that they have it wrong when I had 3 sonograms? I just want this little girl to be as healthy as possible but me making it to 37 weeks seems to be a big challenge.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Ok at my doctors appointment today he seemed very hopeful that I'd make it until at least 37 weeks. I'm pretty sure my due date is dead on. I feel much better about it and if I can make it two more weeks that's good for me and anything further is a bonus. I know though predicting when a baby is going to come is like predicting the lottery numbers lol.

Well late term sonograms are notoriously inaccurate. Usually the early ones are much more accurate, so whatever due date you got at your original sono, is probably right. Tiny baby's don't have fat etc and are all pretty much a standard size in early development so the due date can be considered correct. Later on babies vary so much more so predicting the date is so difficult. My babies always show that I am much farther than I am in late term ultra sounds, like 2 or 3 weeks. Did you give them the first day of your last period and have an early ultra sound? That should have been pretty good as far as accuracy goes. Good luck, sounds like a tough situation, hang in there!!

What is your baby measuring at?

They should know by her length and approx weight. Just ask the at your next appt. or call them today and ask them about the last sonogram.

doctors, like men, go by size alone, they dont look at when YOU think you got pregnant. , the doctor should not have given you drugs to stop you from going into labor, the drugs, might very well interfere with you going into labor at all, my obgyn, dr hyde with va. phys. for women, decided that i had to have been only 24 weeks along when my baby was born, when i told him that there was NO way i got pregnant while my other half was in caifornia, he gave me a smug smile ans said"are you sure ??" so, dont believe everything a doctor tells you, because usually, THEY ARE WRONG.you need to be checked out by another doctor, pericardia can have long term side effects for both you and your baby, stop taking it now.
my baby was born perfectly healthy, at 28 weeks, in our bathroom.labor happens when it is supposed to happen.

They could be wrong. It does have a error margin. I dont know how big though. usually they are pretty accurate on dates. Especially when you are in the later parts of pregnancy. Chances are, if they havent said anything to you, your due date is correct.

I was huge with my last one. I didnt think at 37 weeks i could get any bigger. Boy was I wrong. I made it to 39 weeks and 5 days. I looked and felt like 45 weeks! You could stay that dilated and not move now for a few. Or since this is your fourth if i read correctly, you could be given the gift of having baby with in a safe early time frame. Like hopefully no sooner then 37-38 weeks!!

Good luck! I am excited about all the little feet being born!! seems like alot on this board right now!!!

With both of my past 2 pregnancies I was so huge I thought I would explode. My daughter arrived at 37 weeks, probably partly because I was so huge. With my son I was 4 cm dilated for 4 weeks, and we all expected him to arrive early. I was induced past my due date and he was almost 9 lbs. I don't think you can judge how far along you are based on how big you are, how big the baby is, or how far dilated you are. My daughter was clearly 37 weeks, if not in size, then in behavior (she could not get the nippling right for breast feeding). I think as long as you are over 35 weeks your chances of a healthy baby are pretty good.
