I got some pretty ones from Motherhood Maternity, and they were fairly inexpensive. However it seems the most comfortable and supportive one I have is the ugly one I paid like $35 for at the hospital lactation store!
This is my second pregnancy, and the nursing bras I bought last time were so UGLY that I was very very sick of them long before the year was up. I've checked a few online maternity stores, and JCPenny, and everything seems to be pretty ugly. Does anyone have advice for where to get colorful or otherwise pretty nursing bras?
I just noticed recently that Victoria Secret is now carrying nursing bras! It must have been my letter to them, ha ha just kidding!
Thank you all for your help - I was able to find a few that weren't so icky, using your suggestions. I still wish they came in colors, though! Its hard to feel pretty when wearing such plain bras! I did email VS with a suggestion that they start a maternity line :)

I saw some pretty cute lacy ____@____.com also had a few different colors to choose from. And they just about always have some on clearance. I preferred the camisoles w/ the built in bras. A regular bra was just too uncomfortable for the first 3 months, but that could just be b/c I'm very gifted in that area to start with.
Hey! I'm right there with you! I have been pregnant or nursing since August 1999! You'll probably think I'm crazy but, the best nursing bra's I have came from Walmart. They have one that is flesh colored and lacey that is my favorite. I think they are also easier to use than some of the others. Another plus is that they are cheaper! I hope this helps!
Hey i just went to motherhood. i didnt like any ones any where else!
Try Target, Motherhood, or Kohl's.
I have five children and nursed the last four. I always found them @ JcPenney. While they are not pretty like my Victoria's Secret bras they are the prettier ones of most. Also, at night instead of wearing a nursing bra you could try the tank tops with the built in shelf bra (helps hold the pads in place)which is much more comfortable to sleep in! Good Luck! Congratulations on the new addition too!!!
This is a bit more expensive, but two of them have gotten me through 22+ months of nursing.

It's call Le Mystere. Before ordering, make sure you get fitted by a boutique, not VS or other department stores. They don't have that horrible triagle either. And it's lacy and available in black.
I loved the store motherhood, in the mall by ruby tuesdays. I loved the people , Debbie Hall is the manager and she is so helpful and the clothes are so cute and affordable.
Hi J.,
I am now nursing my third baby and had the same problems with the first two. This time I found some really cute lacy ones at Target. They had pink, black, white and the usual flesh colored ones. I think they are gilligan and o'malley brand and they are even pretty cheap! Around $16 I think. They also had nursing tanks there that are long enough to cover that dreaded post delivery belly. Anyway, check out Target! And good luck!
I've bought a few bras from Motherwear. They're pretty and inexpensive. I especially like their sleep bras - I even wear those during the day.
Here's their bra page: http://www.motherwear.com/cat.cfm/cid/50
I went back to my own bra once I was very established. I nursed with a shawl, and would reach up and raise it over my breast, nurse, and after I put baby down, reach back up and adjust. I felt so much better. The nursing bras never support me like my own.
I have breastfed all four of my kids. With the first 2 I wore the ugly nursing bras. I didn't even bother with nursing bras the last two times. I just wear regular bras. I would pull the bra up over my breast when they nursed, and when they were done, I would pull it back down. It also eliminated the need to do up those awkward clips or buckles on nursing bras. It doesn't work well with underwire bras though.
belliesnbabies.com I believe it is, had a couple really pretty ones last time I was on there. I wouldn't worry about wearing it the entire time you nurse! I ditched mine as soon as I could! I was still wearing it, and I complained about it, and my sister said, "why are you still wearing a nursing bra? just wear a regular bra!" It works, no hassle, unless it's underwire. When I was at home, I just wore the leisure/sleep bra, that opened in the front (just bought it at walmart, not a maternity of nursing bra) and it was so much easier and much more comfortable.
Find what works for you and don't feel you have to have a nursing bra. Basically in the beginning, when the baby is nursing all the time is when it's really best. After that, I'd say get a regular bra that you can easily nurse in!
But they are making better nursing bras now. At least better than they did when I was nursing my now 4 1/2 year old.

If you live in the Raleigh, NC area, one of the best places to get nice nursing bras is the Women's Resource Center at Rex Hospital. It is located on the first floor of the Family Birth Center at Rex on Lake Boone Trail. Another good place is Cravings. It is a maternity shop but also has some nursing mothers' bras and clothing.
You probably wont find too many pretty nursing bras. That is the downside of nursing. I did find some that were semi cute or could be sexy on the motherhood maternity website. They are good about having some on sale as well. Also check Target and Wal-Mart. It would be great if Victoria Secrets would make a maternity line!
Motherwear has a pretty good selection of nursing bras. I find that they don't always hold up realy well, but many of them are prettier than the standard fare. I think the website is Motherwear.com.
I found a cute black/lacy around the sides number at Babies R Us in their Motherhood Maternity section. I would assume Motherhood Maternity would have them as well.
Wow! Kudo's to you on the back to back..the first few weeks are the toughest, but hang in there! Get rest when you can!
I also hated the big obnoxious ones...I found the tanks with the built in drop flap to be fantastic! These and some nice "prettier" ones I found at Target...they had grey and black...if nothing else, black just makes ya feel a little sexy! Good luck!
Hey J.,
Agent Provecteur has awesome nursing bras. They cost more, but they make you feel better about yourself. There aren't any stores near here, you have to order online.
