People who are pintrest will certainly have some great ideas.

Boys ? Crown ? Sword out of tin foil ?

A friend of mine a long long time ago, make a castle out of boxes and painted it pink and had the whole top edged like a castle and the kids loved playing in it.

We had one at this same age. We told the little girls to bring dress up clothes and that if they didn't there would be some they could pick from.

We took dress up shoes, mine of course, long dresses, bathrobes, old Halloween costumes, etc...anything that could make a true princess feel right at home.

I took some fabric that could be cut up for the boys to make capes. I let their moms know if they wanted me to find something in particular that I would try.

I bought some foam crown shapes in the kits at hobby lobby. I had an old tackle box full of glue on gems, google eyes of many shapes, colors and sizes, glitter, tiny tinsel, bling, you name it, I had it in that tackle box.

I did use some faster drying foam craft glue and it worked very well. So here it was, each child got to dress up as a member of royalty, make a custom crown, and have their picture made in front of a wall hanging of a path that led to a truly royal palace. I think I got it at the party store for just a couple of bucks. It might have even come from hobby lobby too.

I think you can do many things with a party of this theme. I know the party stores had numerous items to go along with it. The kids can play dress up, sword fights with foam pool noodles or those foam covers for pipes in the winter, anything soft that won't injure. There are just so many things one can do.

Have lots of fun!

My friend just did a "Princesses and Pans" party so boys were not left out. They got green pan hats and foil/cardboard swords. Boys or girls can decorate foam/paper crowns with stickers/sticker gems or markers. I've also done plastic goblets for boys or girls to decorate/personalize for a crafty party favor.

The best thing I did for our princess party was order a 6' castle backdrop for pictures. We opened gifts in front of it and the Picts turned out great!

We did the princess theme for my daughter's 4th too. Because there are lots of boys in our family, I used the wording of "Royal Celebration" on the invitation but a picture of the princesses in thier white and gold gowns (found it on the web and made my own invitation using clip this clip art picture). I used the heart-shaped princess plates but plain purple tablecloths and napkins. Since my daughter likes purple more than pink I used two shades of purple, one pink, and white/silver ballons. For cups, we used plastic wine glasses and had the kids decorate their "goblets" with self-adhesive gems. I had both girls and boys pick their own crowns (jewel-tone paper ones). The girls made wands and the boys decorated shields. I also had some coloring sheets on hand. I used my clear bowls and plates for the refreshments (had the crystal look).

For the boys:
-capes (material & velcro)
-swords (you can make yours out of cardboard & foil if you need to)
-little matchbox cars for the boys (you can find them inexpensively @
Wal-Mart or a rip-off one @ Walgreens)
-for the girls: mini purses out of satin fabric remnants w/some rhinestones
glued on
-for decorations: defnitely do rhinestones on the table, swags of satin
fabric, glitter/sparkles on the table, confetti, crepe paper rolls swags
across everything, silver & pink balloons
-make a castle front out of cardboard (cut out & paint)

Have the things for the boys be for "Knights in Shining Armor." Give them plastic swords and shields, and an opportunity to "joust," shoot plastic bows and arrows, ride "horses" or to defeat a dragon. Plastic knights, dragons and/or horses are great favors.
