Can anyone give advice and recomendations for a private kindergarden in plano or frisco area that: 1. won't break the bank, 2. christian education preferable but not mandatory, 3. provides after care, and 4. will do well with an overly intellegent hyper child.

Thanks Mommies!

Hi B.,
We used to live in Plano and had our son (now 4 1/2) at Carpe Diem Private Preschool in Richardson from ages 1-3. ...And LOVED it!!!! It fits every criteria you listed - as mine are still similar. They have a location in Frisco as well where they offer Kindergarten. I am heartbroken that we had to leave - we moved down South to the M-streets about a year ago. Check out their website - www.carpediempreschool.com

Good luck -
C.

We attend the Messiah Lamb School at Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano (near 190 and Custer). They have a private kindergarten program. Some reasons we LOVE the program are: regular chapel sessions, extracurricular activities (Spanish, computers, gymnastics), all the preschool+ teachers are degreed and well-tenured, and they have low child-teacher ratios. They also have a gymnasium so the kids can play inside when there is inclement weather.

The tuition is affordable and they offer before and after care. My children attend the 2 and 3 year old preschool program. We worship at a Baptist church but like this program because it is Bible based, not Lutheran based. I like the idea of an interdenominational Christian education. The director is Gail Winningham. All 3 of my kids went and still go to Faith Lutheran School in Plano. I would highly recommend it.

My youngest son sounds alot like yours. The school provided extra work to challenge him and still do now that he is going in to 3rd grade. Small class sizes allow them to do that. My oldest just graduated 8th grade and has grown into an amazing young man. I would do all over again.

They offer Preschool - 8th Grade. It is much more affordable than Prince of Peace. We looked at both.

I used Children's Courtyard in Grapevine for this and loved it! I believe they have locations near you.

I have heard wonderful things about Prince of Peace Christian School in Plano. My children do not go there, but my very good friend's children do.

Can I ask you a question? Did you try for a girl?
My husband and I would love to have a little girl.
My son (who is very hyper and very intellegent as well) is turning 4 Aug 30th, so we are going to start trying soon. I know your little girl is only one but do the two of them get along?
I'm afraid it's going to be too much for me because he is very hyper and hardly ever sleeps. Although I wouldn't have it any other way, I don't want my second child to be as hyper. They say girls are totally different- is that true?

Thanks for taking the time,
V.

My son goes to Prince of Peace and we are very happy with it. They are a blue ribbon and have a wonderful program. You can see everything about them (including rates, something that so many other schools hide)on the web. http://www.princeofpeace.org/ Hope this helps.
