S.A.
D., I have a teenager at Hill Country Christian School (HCCSA) and we LOVE it! He's been there since 6th grade (we lived elsewhere prior to that), and it has been absolutely the biggest blessing in his and our lives. The thing I love the most about HCCSA (aside from the fact that they have WONDERFUL academics) is that they teach the students to own their faith. I.e., they don't shove religion down their throats, they make faith in Christ a natural part of everything the kids learn and when they're older, they teach them how to think for themselves rather than just parroting what they hear (all from a sound Biblical perspective). Kind of the "talk about it when you sit and when you rise, talk about it when you're walking on the road ..." kind of thing. The teachers really love the kids and do a great job of shepherding, mentoring, shaping their hearts. As I said, their academic standards are top notch, they have great sports teams (not important to us, but it is to a lot of people), and ... well, it's hard to describe because it's just such a fantastic place! It's a real sacrifice for us to send our son there, but it's worth every penny, and God is blessing us with a young man who truly loves Him, who is developing his own relationship with Christ (rather than just sorta hanging onto our coattails), and who is SO ready for the college application process because the school has put so much effort into making these kids ready. I can't recommend HCCSA highly enough!
