I'm looking at ordering proactive for my acne. I'm 27, face used to be clear, but lately has been breaking out alot, especially around that time of the month. Does it work? Is it worth the cost?

What can I do next?

When I was a teen, I had sinfully clear skin. In my twenties I developed acne. I tried everything and finally found proactive 6 years ago (I'm 45 now, so yea it took me a long time) and it's the best. I won't say I never have a break out, but my skin is clear 99% of the time and it's also a lot smoother. I highly recommend it.

Hope this helps!

Dear Bethany C:

Proactive works for about 30% of the female and 39% of male population in the US. As Stephanie L wrote it is hard on the skin. In fact it is very hard for the following reasons. It is an astringent which dehydrates the skin cells and depending on the chemical used can lead to programmed cell death which can cause serious future skin disorders.

When possible always try to clear up skin problems without an astringent. An astringent is the band-aid effect of clearing acne or any bacterial skin problem.

All skin problems are related to a bacteria or fungus. The more inflammation (redness) there is the more aggressive the bacteria. These bacteria’s are not only in the skin but also in the blood. To permanently clear up a skin problem in a safe effective way, you need to treat the problem topically and internally. The topical approach works fast usually in 48 to 96 hours and will keep the skin clear for weeks to many months. Treating yourself internally will clear it up in most cases for life.
Sugar is your worst enemy with acne and other skin problems.

There is a company that will send you a proven program to eliminate this problem. It will also discuss all the other products on the market like Proactive.

You can email them at ____@____.com
If for any reason they won’t send it to you, I will try to track it down.

Just can email me at ____@____.com

Good Luck

Hi Bethany,

My nephew used it and liked it but as soon as I recommended that he eat healthier, his face cleared up drastically with no scarring. My 17 year old had a problem and she uses another product very similar but with the combination of the multivitamin/mineral complex it has done wonders. There are a lot of vitamins on the market, most of which will do more damage than good, so if you're interested, I'll be glad to recommend one for you.

God bless,

M.

I've heard proactive can be really hard on your skin. I was so close to ordering it when I went to a Mary Kay party. I ordered their skin care line and even without the acne treatment my face cleared up. I was so amazed that a few months later I signed up to be a consultant! Take a look at my website if you'd like. We have a great skincare line called Timewise, it's what I use and love. I can mail you some samples if you'd like to try it. Here's my website www.marykay.com/slopez0804. No pressure to buy, I just thought I'd share my experience. We do have acne treatments as well, but before you try anything harsh on your skin I'd see if this works. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

I have found Proactive to work wonders on my skin. I don't feel it is harsh at all. My skin is not only clear but it is soft. My skin isn't dry either - something I've had problems with in the past. I can't say enough good about it. It can be pricey, but I've found I use a bit less than recommended and therefore it lasts a little longer. You can even call them to increase the time between shipments and lower your costs a bit.

Bethany,
Proactive did not work for my son and it really dried his skin out. I think it has a money back guarantee if you want to try it.
I am a wellness educator and would be happy to help you with supplements that will help balance the hormones and stop some of the breakouts.

I never used proactive but used the "off" brand from Walmart. It worked good for awhile but then kind of stopped being so affective. I ended using Walmart brand of 10% benzoyl peroxide every night and it's worked for years. I wash my face with Dove sensitive skin soap bar (something that I was skeptic about in the beginning but now love it ")
After washing, I use a cheap non comedogenice face lotion (even on the oily areas) and then apply a thin coat of benzoyl peroxide on top of the lotion with out rubbing it in and letting it dry on my face. I do this once a day every night and it's helped me and I tried EVERYTHING. The key is not skipping a night. Also I found that the more you irritate the skin the more prone to acne it is. So always remain gentle with your face helps. Ok sorry I know you just ask if I used the product but couldn't pass up the advice since I sure did appreciate it when I was struggling with acne. ")
Best Regards,
C.

Yes Proactive does work but for $20.00 or under, because it goes on sale every once in a while, you can get a product called Klear Action. Works just like the other stuff. This is what I have used for about 2 years now. I am 50 years old and have adult acne and as long as I use it religously it stays clear or should I say Klear. You can only get it at Walgreens.

depends on your skin type, it didn't work for me or for a friend of mine. But I do know a few people it worked for. I got my money back, so it is worth a try.

Yes!!! Absolutely!!! I have used Proactive for 3 years now, and have very few problems. After my daughter was born, I broke out really bad and nothing worked until I tried Proactiv. In fact, I was so broken out, I have some minor scarring, but once I started using Proactiv, everything cleared up. If you use the 5 step program, it will not dry out your face. It includes an oil free moisturizer. It seems expensive, but it lasts a REALLY long time! I only have to buy new stuff about once a year.... The toner is what goes the fastest. I am a HUGE supporter of Proactiv and would recommend it to anyone!
