Hi moms!
I have a friend that has psoriasis pretty bad. Does anyone know any natural remedies? I`ve heard of taking L-lysine and zinc? Anyone have any experiences with taking that? I also read a response a couple weeks ago on Super Lysine...which I bought a tube for her online.

What can I do next?

I will keep you all updated more later!
THANKS!

plain simple old-fashion oatmeal helps - grind in a food-processor and put it in a luke-warm bath. Stress is a really really big trigger for this as well as many other issues - so she needs to do something to relax her.

Watkins Petro Carbo Salve or one of the other hand and cuticle salves might help. My mom used Watkins Lavender Hand and Cuticle Salve and it cleared hers up. She also thought Watkins Lemon Creme lotion helped too. I think it just softens it up so it doesn't look as bad. What I do know is that with 3 people I know, what works for one doesn't always work for the next person. My sister isn't very consistent and her psoriasis is out of control. She does say that going to the tanner helps.

My son-in-law has this, and one thing that, believe it or not, helps is a tanning bed. He use to go all the time and it helped to keep his breakouts down.

There is a great book out there called "Nutritional Healing". It's a big paperback book and it has listings of almost any disease you can think of (in alphabetical order) and it gives medical information about the disease, what foods you should avoid & which ones you should eat, vitamins that you should be taking, and any other things that you should do that would help. Psoriasis is in there, but I can't remember exactly what they said-some kind of fish oil if I remember correctly. My dad has it severely. He just started on a daily injection of something new and has had pretty good success with it. The other stuff helped some, but not enough. Tanning does help, but tanning a lot can be dangerous. I've seen that book at Costco, Health Food Stores, & Book Stores. It's quite handy to have around.

Hi K.---Psoriasis is an autoimmune disorder. I'm not sure what sorts of things to use topically, but has your friend thought of strengthening and balancing her immune system by dietary means?

I am taking a series of wellness classes taught by a Naturopath who has her PhD in nutrition. Although your friend may need to use topical chemicals for short term relief, these products do nothing to address the root cause of the problem, her weak immune system. If she would like to know how to manage her disease through diet, please share my informationn with her. Basically, she needs to concentrate her food choices to fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. I would also recommend a whole food based supplement to help intensify her antioxidant intake. I know of a good one that is backed by research showing that it balances the immune system, essentially healing it so that the body does not attack itself.

Feel free to contact me at any time. I really enjoy helping others learn how to optimize their health. I do not charge for 'consultations'. Talk to you soon. D.

Psoriasis actually stems from a weak immune system. So getting her immune system in balance would be ideal. I provide nutrition consultations and available to do this over the phone. If she would like to talk and see if what I have is a fit for her, email me and we can exchange telephone numbers.

Warm regards,

M.

I have heard about a natural solution that includes aloe juice. If you want to hear more about it, send me your e-mail address and I can send you the link to my web site. I can probably get you more info on the L-Lysine also.

Rub the inside of a banana peel on the affected areas. Sounds crazy but it works!

i have bad , ugly psoriasis on my elbows & & legs. I went to dermatologits(2 of them) and they can't cure or treat them. So, to make it short, my psoriasis got worse and it's driving me crazy from itchness. I spend a lot of money to get rid of it or them. I go to internet ( most of theise places are membership) It's still not helping me. one day, I saw GNC store and I went inside. The salesperson that was there was nice, told him about this problem. He gave me this lysine ointment for $6.99. I bought it and tried it. I wash my legs, clean it with hydrogen peroxide, then applied lysine. For the 1st time, Ifelt a lot better. Also, I am taking benadryl tablets for the itch 2x/day.Now, my psoriasis is almost gone. I am also taking lysine pills to treat inside
