Pull-ups vs Easy-ups

I TOTALLY regret falling for the marketing of these. I WISH I went straight to underware. It would have made the process soooo much easier and faster.

Those are just overpriced diapers. SUCH A RIP-OFF! My son did better with two pair of underware on than wearing Pull-Ups.

LOTS of mom's are going to agree with me, I've seen this discussion many, many times. I've yet to see a mom that would use them again.

If you are really going to potty train skip the pull ups/ easy ups they are nothing but more expensive less absorbent diapers. Either use diapers for now or training underwear. We use underwear with a diaper at bedtime for as long as it's needed.

In my family we always go straight to underwear. At the beginning, when they are more prone to accidents, we might put a pantiliner in them. (sounds weird, I know, but it's sooo much cheaper, and easier that way to keep on top of things.)

Neither one is a good idea. They are a diaper that pull up and down. They are not training pants. If you are really ready to train, go with heavy duty, multilayer cloth trainers with waterproof pants. They wont' know the difference between a "pullup" and a disposable diaper. Cloth lets them know what happens when they pee - they feel very wet! Then they'll start to identify what it feels like just before that happens. Be proactive, don't have the "potty" be an occasional thing or an optional thing - take them to the bathroom about every hour and a half, don't ask if they want or have to go, no bribes or rewards, is my philosophy. If you don't have relatively good/quick progress with cloth, it means they are not ready and just stick with diapering rather than pullups.Good luck!

Neither.... go to underwear. Pull ups are an expensive diaper an wont help your child train.

Neither. If you put them in those, you'll be supporting the diaper manufactures until they are 4. They wick away the wetness. They are never uncomfortable so they never know what you are talking about when you say "you wet your pants".
I am convinced that those sort of diapers that pull up were one phenominal marketing concept that added billions to their bottom line.
Regular cloth trainers are the best. Yes there will be a few accidents, but atleast they will know what you are talking about as the pee runs down their leg.

I would tell you to use neither. Studies are showing that it slows the progression of actually learning and it also gives the child an option, which is confusing to them. Go with underwear, stay home for three days to a week,(that way if there is any accidents it is less worry) and make sure you give them tons of praise for going.

They are a ripoff, but I used Pull-Ups since the sides were resealable. And with twins you might like the convenience.

We have used both. There isn't too much difference. Pull ups sides are supposed to be resealable, but they usually ripped. In all honesty, I just picked up whichever one had the character my kids were most into, or the ones on sale. We only used them in the beginning of potty training when we were out of the house. At home it was undies all the time. Once they were dry most of the time at home we went to undies all the time (and a change of clothes, a hand towel and some wipes crammed into my purse, just in case :) ) For both of my kids, pull ups and easy ups were "permission" to pee, they did not help the potty training experience.

Honestly, neither of them worked for us. My daughter treated them like diapers and made no progress with potty training with them. Once we switched to underwear it was a matter of days before she was well into potty training. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I hope you have a better time with them than we did.

I personally preferred the Huggies Pull-ups, the Pampers didn't have the velcro tabs on the sides like diapers. Before my daughter started going #2 on the potty, changing the Pampers was a nightmare! If you mastered #2 on the potty, I think Pampers would be fine. I also use the Jewel Baby Basics brand now that my daughter just needs "back up at night", even though most nights she stays dry. Both are nothing but diapers that go up and down. You are not training them to not go in their pants by keeping a diaper on them. They don't know the difference, it's just in your mind that they are any different than a diaper! Use training underwear or go naked. Of course there will be accidents but they don't learn if they don't have them, and while pull ups are easy as far as cleanup for you, they don't teach the kid anything. Either you are ready to train or you're not. If you are, skip the fancy diapers.

Huggies has the plastic fake velcro sides. I hated them! If they came undone while my son was wearing them or trying to pull them up and down to go in the potty, it was not as easy to line back up as it looks. He couldn't do it by himself. Also, the plastic corners would actually scrape my son and did so more than once!

We use the pamper easy ups at night. He can do it by himself and the sides don't scratch.

My son is 3 and we used Huggies. They have the velcro on the side. I agree with so many other people. I didn't have the chance to stay home with him and do it the way others are saying to do. We started to train him before his 3rd birthday. That was my goal. But he was not ready and I was. So, we just encouraged him and asked him to go sit on the potty. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it did not.

When he was ready, he told us. We still use pull-ups at night, although the pull-up is dry, I don't want him to wake up with wet pants. He is fully trained now.

I like the Huggies Pull-ups better, they are less bulky.

Ok, I am going to disagree here. Although my son is not totally potty trained we use Huggies Pullups and I think they are great. I do have to take him to the potty every 1-2 hours and sometimes he does ask. We go through one pullup a day so its not really that expensive. We do have poop accidents still so its much easier to clean with the resealable sides which have never ripped. If he does have an accident he tells me immediately. I tried just underwear when he asked for it and he peed on himself and got very upset by it. It did not speed up the potty training process.

Pull Ups. Huggies is just WAY better!! NEVER any problems.

If you can avoid it, don't use either. We were advised that pull-ups basically teach kids that it's okay to pee/poop in their underwear. We went straight from diapers to underwear and only used a diaper at night. After a week or two of dry diapers in the morning we went to underwear at night and havent had a single accident. Granted I think we got very lucky with the whole process (we waited until my son was a couple months shy of 3), but regardless I would suggest going straight to underwear! Good luck...it's so liberating when they are out of diapers!

I use Pampers Easy-ups because I prefer pampers diapers and just stuck with the brand. Going straight to underwear didn't work for 2 of my children so I like the Easy-ups. They are quicker to get down and up again when potty training and toddlers can do that themselves.

They are definitely overpriced, but I need them. If you join Amazon prime and use other coupons you can get them really cheap including free 2-day delivery.
