My son and I are going to see the Imaginaton Movers next friday. We will be gone from 4 pm to about 9 or 10 dependng on how long it takes us to get home.
This is my daughter's cluster feed time, so i know i will need to pump some. My current play is to sit behind him in the van before the show (thank god for the battery operated plugs) and let him play his DS for a bit ..... any other ideas?

What can I do next?

Not sure about wattage and how that all works, but there are a lot of products like this out there. http://www.amazon.com/Wagan-EL2402-SmartAC-Power-Inverter...
It will let you plug in your pump to your cigarette lighter basically. No batteries needed. We keep one in our car at all times. I used it once to pump in the car too.

As for your night out -- I think you have a great idea. Make sure you give yourself extra time to pump. I can't think of any other way to to it aside from bringing another friend with you to find y'all's seats while you stay in the car to pump. Good luck! Have fun.

I never had the option. I pumped while we waited places (in the car), I pumped while I drove down the highway (I know not safe, but did what I had to) and never made a big deal about having to pump infront of the other kids. They all just think it is a nautral thing. If they asked quesitons I just answered them. I also NEVER had a problem nursing my babies in front of people or while I was eating supper. Just because I was nursing my babies I never let it slow me down. I still took the other kids places and enjoyed my time with them.

I may get some negative comments about this, BUT I feel Mothers who ignore the other kids while nursing is doing nothing by harming the other kids, they need that special attention too!

Sounds good to me! I love those DS's....my son's would bring them to the OB office and sit in the hall when I was having my exams.
I would pump now so you have some milk saved up for next Friday. Pump once before the show, let son play DS, pump after show, let son play DS.
Have a great time, my boys like Imagination Movers too.

Sounds like the best bet. I had to pump in the restaurant bathroom for my anniversary date when my oldest was 2 months old, I leaked through my shirt on our first date when he was six weeks old (dratted baby crying at the end of the movie), and I've pumped in the passenger seat of the car, in the back of a classroom (since we were "not taking breaks"), and been walked in on countless times by both genders. Have a fun date with him!! Just make the pumping session count for as much as you can so you don't have to worry about it again and can relax. :)

How do you manage to not breastfeed or pump in front of him? That must be difficult. But your plans seems to be a good one. The DS is a savior for so many moments!!
