Putting Name Labels on Pool Items That Will Be in the Chlorine

My kids are going to summer camp at the YMCA. My son will not swim without his mask. Is there any way to label his swim mask since it will be in chlorine everyday? A special marker, paint, etc that anyone knows about that holds up in the pool? Thanks so much for any/all suggestions!

What can I do next?

I second Mabel's Labels.

I can't find the article now, but there was a swim mask found in a lake after being lost for 2 years. Still had the label on it!

I will suggest to not use Write Aways and to put the label on a dry plastic part (vs rubber or cloth) if possible. I have a tag mate on my DD's goggles for the pool. The Write Away label didn't stick so well to her PFD's cloth but I was told to reapply it to the buckle instead and we'll be testing that this summer.

You can also use tag mates and other labels for everything else he'll bring to camp - bottles, lunches, shoes....They make camp combos packs you might find useful. DD has outgrown many things before the label came off. I'm a big fan.

Mabel's Labels will hold up and do the trick. Those things are AMAZING!
Looks like they even have a perfect combo set for summer camps!

ETA - I bought labels for my teacher sister for Christmas, because she was constantly losing and having to replace coffee mugs and water bottles. She applied them to everything .... They go through the dishwasher and everything. Now her stuff gets returned instead of replaced. Money saver! Mi also use labels on my 2 yo's water bottle that we take to soccer, just in case we leave it behind. There's been at least one in the dishwasher EVERY night for nearly 2 months now and they don't look any worse for the wear.

A sharpie should work. You might need to reapply periodically, but it should hold up fairly well. Maybe not the entire summer without reapplying... but sharpie should do the trick just fine.

I agree with sharpie. The only other thing if you can paint well, is to mark things with nail polish.

A sharpie along with clear nail polish for things like goggles and toys. My neighbor did this and only redoes it once a year or maybe twice.

I've used paint pens. More durable than sharpie, easier to write with than nail polish.

Can you send him with a bag of things for the pool? Then he makes sure before he leaves his things are always in the bag?

We have a big pool bag we take when the family goes (or a sitter takes the kids), but if the kids go to a friends house and need water gear, they each have their own bags that are water proof (from Initials) and they take their items in there. Our things are not marked, but they know if they come home without something they are out of luck.

Hi! When my guys were little they liked the same style goggles. I used a bright colored embroidery thread and wrapped it around the strap by the clip. A Sharpie will only last so long, even ballpoint ink doesn't last so remember to reapply often. My son (he's a swim coach) lets his kids draw on him, after a swim meet he is a work of art, but it goes away pretty fast.
