Yes, that's what you need to do the whole series. I've got the P90x series and do them sporadically - between running and karate training. I found out after buying the pull-up bar that I have NO doorway in my apartment the right dimensions to hang it, so that's out. The resistance bands work well, and just light hand weights should be enough. I had a yoga mat from before.

The workouts are intense, but of course you can take breaks and do them at your level. They show options. Most of them are long, too. I like to do the Ab one when I'm in a hurry (16 minutes) cuz some are an hour. The stretching one has been great for me, since that is something I typically neglect.

Enjoy!

(I'm 51. No injuries yet.)

I have the P90X and I love it. I did three rounds of it and got great results! I didn't follow the diet plan, just the exercise. I did two rounds of the classic, one round of the lean. Awesome work out if you can stick to it. I am currently working on my 4th round after having a baby 1 year ago.

Yes, I have the pull up bar and I use it with my program. Do you need it? No, you can modify all of the exercises but the pull up bar for me is something I'm glad I bought. I got it from Beachbody but I've heard there are other pull up bars on the market, just do some searching. Do you need resistance bands? No, as long as you have weights. I have 3, 5, 8, and 10 lb weights. That is plenty for me since I have limited space. I also bought the resistance bands for the program and I use the green band with my pull up bar. Do you need a yoga mat? Yes, absolutely for the yoga and floor exercises, unless you have soft carpeting then you can probably get by without a mat but if you have tile floors, then a mat of some kind will be necessary for your comfort.

Don't let anyone convince you that it's so intense! Yes, it's intense if you have NEVER worked out in your life but if you have any experience with any kind of working out, you will do fine. The key is to modify when necessary. Listen to your body. Drink plenty of fluids after your workout to help with the muscle soreness that will likely follow. If you're sore the next day, push through it but again, listen to your body and modify when necessary. Too many people stop working out because they are sore, they let too many days pass before working out again and discouragement quickly sets in and before you know it, you've abandoned a program that you never really gave it your all. Don't make excuses, just do it. I'm sure you'll become a fan of the P90X.

While the yoga x is an hour and a half of yoga, the other DVD's are about an hour BUT that is an hour of running time. The actually "working out" is around 48 minutes due to the warming up and cooling down, which are essential for every workout but don't be discouraged by comments that the workouts are long. The actual working out parts are not long. Warm up and cool downs are not "intense."

Not sure of your age but my Orthopediadic told me the majority of his patients come to him as a result of exercise gone wrong...many of them 40ish after doing PX90. My physical therapist confirmed the majority of his patients come to him as a result of exercise injuries. I don't mean to be a downer but be careful.

LOVE P90X. Did it 2 summer's ago... I've been doing circuit training outside, but the weather is starting to get really hot...Going to start up P90x next week... GREAT WORKOUT!!!!
I did the "regular" p90x (there's 3 different one's: doubles, regular and lean. All have about 10 dvd's though)...
I needed:
-pullup bar (you can get the one that attaches to your door frame
-2/3 different size weights
-yoga mat (for doing stuff on floor)
- I have resistance bands but never used them
-towel and water
-chair (for arms and pullups)
That might be it...
Good luck.. I am a workout person anyway, but loved how I felt with the p90x.. It's not easy, so do what you can :)

P90X is an awesome program!! I did the entire 90 days over the holidays this year and I loved it! You will need hand weights or resistance bands, pullup bar, chair and a yoga mat. I'm an Independent Team Beachbody Coach and you can get your P90X through my website www.getfitgainlife.com and get me as your coach for support for free!

My husband and I have been doing it and love it! Especially love having to buy all new skinny clothes! My BIL and nephew do it as well to keep in shape. There are pre-tests and recommendations to figuring out your fitness level, and I would recommend doing those. Also getting a doctor's okay. Check Freecycle and Craigs List for the things you need. I think we only spent about $20 getting everything we needed to start, although, I already had a really good yoga mat for my PT exercises. GL!

You can buy a pullup bar and variable resistance band set on amazon for like $30. I did that. I already had a yoga mat. That is pretty much it. My band set came with a piece that allowed you to close a door and loop the band through the piece to use for pull downs, etc. Good luck!
