Hi moms! I am thinking of using glass bottles but not exactly sure which brand to go with. Can anyone give any suggestions? Also, I have an Avent pump and since they have no glass bottles, I have no idea what I'm suppose to pump into. Do I just hold the bottle up to the pump while I pump? Thanks!

You should be able to pump into it's own plastic bottles and then pour into whatever bottle you prefer. Most bottles have the same screw-on tip size and I would think the glass would work - just be heavier to hold while pumping.

All bottles should fit on the pump. If not, get a different kit that allows you to be able to hook up with other bottles. I have a medela pump and can use any bottle that is not a wide mouth. Glass bottles are great but I would be afraid of me breaking them.

I always just used the Gerber glass bottles. MUCH MUCH cheaper, also carried at Babies R Us. Then if by chance you break one you'll haven't also broken your bank. Unless you start having feeding issues, I would start with these. Dr.Browns and some other companies make some fancy ones to reduce air intake etc. but you'll pay dearly for those. I had an Avent pump too, and just pumped into the avent bottle and immediately transfered it to a glass bottle as soon as I finished pumping. Not ideal, but that's what I did.

We used the Gerber glass bottles. They worked great and we loved them...I felt that the other options for glass bottles were overpriced. The Gerber glass bottles are a standard size and worked great with my pump, but they were heavy so I just pumped into basic BPA free plastic bottles and transfered the milk into plastic storage bags. Never had a problem and the best part is that they are in perfect condition for the next baby!
They are really sturdy and we only broke one during her 12 months of bottle feeding.

Dr browns make GREAT glass bottles that help reduce air intake, gas and colic. They are not much more in cost compared to the regular plastic bottles. They are sold at babies r us I know for sure. I'm serious they work great and I use these glass ones for my son. I don't use plastic bottles at all. I hope this helps.
