A.M.
My daughter had it when she was 16 months old, no problems. It is especially recommended if you plan to travel internationally. We traveled to Peru for 2 months when she was 18 months old.
Our pediatrician just suggested a HepA vaccine for my 2 year old. It is not required, but she advised we get it. Has anyone's kids had this yet? Any problems?
Thanks in advance.

My son got it at his 1 year well child check up. We had no problems with it.
We got it since it was recommended. My daughter did get cold symptoms with lethargy two days later, but I'm not sure if it was related to her shots (she got other vaccinations that day as well) or allergies, or just a cold. All in all, it was fine--no real problems to report.
I look at it. If it is not required then I don't get it. We just had a talk about this in my message class. It seems like everytime that we turn around they have another vaccine. How did we ever make it this far in life? None of my children have it. I don't seem the harm of holding off. But you know your child and who they are around the most. If you feel they are at risk, then go for it. Or just wait and let them grow a little more.
But do remeber that a vaccine is a small dose of the dissaea in qustion.
both of my kids have had the hep A and neither one had any problems with it.
Yes. They are now recommending them for all kids. Hep A is the virus that infected the green onions at Chili's near Pittsburgh a few years ago. The vaccine is supposed to help kids fight this off should they be exposed to it. My daughter (7) recently had it without any ill effects. My son (turns 3 next month) will probably get it at his next appointment at the beginning of June. While it is totally up to you, they recommend it because this virus can be very dangerous for kids and seniors who are exposed to it. They were the hardest hit during the Chili's scare and a few other since.
Hi all 4 of my kids had the shot and they all had no side effects..good luck
My oldest 2 have both received the HepA vaccine and we havne't had any problems with it to date
They recommended it for my daughter too. I didn't get it. In my opinion, they get enough and my daughter has such strong reactions to them. We recently suffered through the side effects of the MMR-V. Not fun.
Until they require it for school, I'm not biting on that one. My doctor did say that of all the vaccines it's the easiest one when it comes to side effects.
