My little girl went through the same thing and finally I took her to a dermatologist in St. Augustine, FL and he said to use Selsum Blue. The daily use in the blue bottle it worked almost instantly. We used it on her scalp and skin.
My 8 1/2 month girl, 'Lexie' has started breaking out in a rash all over her body and her pediatritian has tried creams and powders but it only seems to make the rash stonger. I've tried baby powder, corn starch, medicated lotion & powders, even prescriptions. The Dr. said to let it take it's course cause it isn't responding to any of her treatments, I just don't like Lexie stracthing herself cause it obviously itches.......Help PLEASE.
Thanks for all the tips. She had a mild reaction to the organic clothes that I had purchased. Her rash has cleared up after several bathes and a little aloe. I really appreciated all the wonderful ideas. Thank all of you very much.
Also we found out after her dr had another dr look at her they came conclusion that she had a very mild case of the chicken pox.

My son started breaking out when he was about seven months old. At eight months his doctor finally sent us to an allergist and he tested allergic to milk, eggs, peanuts and wheat. Even when we started avoiding these foods the rash continued. He finally outgrew the rash at 18 months. We still avoid the problem foods except for wheat which he seems to have outgrown as well.
Hello N.,
My son has contact dermatitis (basically sensitive skin), and his pediatrician suggested bathing him only in Cetaphyl, Aveeno, or something very mild as such. He also told me to put Eucerin lotion on the red dry patches. It has helped though the rashes sometimes come back. Your daughter might have a different issue though. Hope this helps. Becky
Dear N.,
Rashes are really tricky!! I definitely wouldn't use anything that makes the rash worse. You could have your baby see a dermatologist or allergist. It could be as simple as a food allergy (anything new in her diet?) or contact dermatitis from laundry products, soap, cleaning products or even a soap or lotion that you use and then touch her. Ask the doctor about giving her some benadryl in her milk for the itching (or call your pharmacist to find out how much you should give for her weight) and keep her nails trimmed. Chances are this will disappear as fast as it appeared. Rashes can show up do to viral illness (a cold from a week ago or fever) or from heat. Sometimes it is a mystery!! Good luck. K.
You need to rule out an allergy. My son had the same thing and it ended up being an allergy to oats. We tried everything to get rid of the rash and finally realized it was an allergic reaction to oatmeal. Maybe this is not the case with your baby, but it is a thought. Hope this helps. C.
Have you tried Bach Flower cream? I know you said you love the natural stuff. It is incredible. We use it for everything, including diaper rashes and eczema itch.
Oh my God,my son has had these bumps all over him for months, THey said it was chicken pox, so i treated that. Then they came back so i took him and they said it was scabies, And that it is contagious, but for all these months no one around us has got them, not children from the babysitters not me or my boyfriend, and the doctor gave me a perscription for it but the medicine didn't even stop them, they are still there. I feel so bad i have no more money to keep taking back to pay for no cure? I'm not sure what to do or if my son is even getting treated for the right thing. ANy help?
I don't know if it will help, but I use this product for everything, and I mean just about everything, it's called Silver Water Gel. It's made from Colloidal Silver, which is all natural, basically a distilled water with Silver properties. It works great on the skin, and will not irritate, or it shouldn't. You can get it at the Health Food Store, it will either be in the moisturizer section or with the Silver Water Oral Liquid in the vitamins. Hope it helps! Or you can try A&D Ointment, I use that for alot of things also.
Well my daughter and son had the same problem. I eventually found out that its exezma. It's just a dry skin issue. And what helps that is Crisco cooking grease. I no it sounds horrible but I promise it works so good. If the rash is really dry then try it. You will be shocked how fast it clears up.
could it be an allergy to your laundry soap? i know most of the people in my husbands family are allergic to tide,so when ever i wash my baby's clothes i always use dreft.you maybe doing this already but it's the only thing i can think of.
Hi N.,
Have you tried soaking her in the Aveeno Oatmeal bath. This seems to be helping my son's bad diaper rash. Don't wash it off though. Also, do you think she's allergic to your laundry detergent?
hi.. have you tried asking your doctor about allergies? The baby could be allergic to something she has everyday such as milk or cereal.. even the kind of detergent you use to wash her clothes...There are tests they can easily have done to determine what things she might be allergic to even with her age. Good luck
Think about food allergies! My son was dx with a milk and soy protein intolerance by a GI doc when he was 6 months old. He also had a pretty severe rash that cleared up as soon as these were eliminated from his diet( my diet since I was nursing). Good luck!
At my daughter's 15 month check-up 4 months ago coincided with a rash that she just developed (on her inner thy). I tried Balmex and other "diaper rash" creams, but nothing worked. My pediatrician said to use a little bit of over-the-counter Cortisone cream (Walmart brand is really cheap).
I applied the 1% lotion and in 24 hours it was completely gone. My Ped said that if it was a yeast infection/rash, the cortisone would make it worse, and I'd have to get a prescription cream. Try a wee bit of 1% Cortisone and it should clear up!

My son had a diaper rash kinda like that I was at my wits end! It turned out to be a yeast infection! I didn't even know boys could get those but sure enough that was what it was. The doctor gave me some medicine for it and with 2 days it was gone. I was so relieved because my poor lil guy had been suffering for 2 weeks! I hope this helps.
Hi N., my god-son had the same problem, rash with no reason. Nothing worked on it either. The chiropractor I used to work for is into homeopothy also and she recommended trying something from the health food store for exzema. He did not have exzema but she said it should clear up his rash anyways. It was some kind of oil that your baby would drink and is completely harmless. Within a day or two of taking it, his rash started to go away and within a week was completely gone. We got it from Herbal Advantage in Ocala, Fl. Even if you don't live near here, you can call and ask Joan what it was and she should know. The number is ###-###-####. Hope this helps!
