I've tried everything suggested and nothing has even made a tiny bit of removal of this nasty buildup . Has anyone been successful in getting this clean?

What can I do next?

Magic Erasers are truly magic. I never scrub my glass doors or tile. I just wipe them down with the magic eraser. I also spray my shower daily just to sanitize it. (I use whatever cleaner they sell at the dollar store.)

make a solution of white vinegar and dawn dishsoap. (its recommended that you heat the vinegar but i have had success with it room temp.) spray it on covering everything. (make sure you vent the room as the spraying always makes me cough from the irritation) let it sit for at least 30 minutes. then grab a scrubby sponge and wipe it down. scrubbing where necessary. rinse well (if you fail to rinse well the floor of the shower will be dangerously slippery) and you should have a sparkling shower!

i used this on a clear shower curtain that had turned white with buildup. my husband thought i bought a new shower curtain.

a more toxic solution would be CLR but i try to use more natural products so its vinegar and dawn for me!

Have you tried Magic Erasers? They work on lots of stuff. What about using Shower Clean daily and seeing if over the course of a couple of weeks it improves.

I agree with one of the other posters - an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. My folks had a squeegee that was suction cupped to the shower wall for use after every shower.

Good luck!

Lime-Away works well if it's a mineral buildup.

My cousins never have a build up.
This is how they do it.
After they shower or have a bath - after they dry themselves off they use their towel to dry the walls of the shower, and bathtub and THEN hang their towel up to dry.
Towel gets washed weekly and there's never any build up on surfaces for them to clean off.
Some people will use a squeegee to get moisture off the surfaces.
A little prevention goes a long way to solving the problem.

What kind of buildup? Like mildew, soap scum, ...?

My son's shower is horrible to clean. It's just a crummy design and at some point we will end up replacing it. I use Magic Erasers as Military Mom mentions, and that does the trick.

I also use a spray that includes a bleach type ingredient (pretty smelly stuff) but I spray it on, leave for five minutes, and come back and it's removed the gunk. I only have to do that now and then. It's just in with the regular bathroom cleaners - but specifically says for removing mildew. I find it gets rid of all the build up - soap too, etc.

I think I saw something the other day online with vinegar and baking soda.
