My husband got a new job in Independence, MO, I'm interviewing at both UMKC and UK Medical Center. We are looking to buy a house somewhere with decent schools and we are looking for any suggestions for real estate agents that were great (or ones to stay away from) and we loved working with a small mortgage company when we bought our first house, so if anyone has one to recommend that would be great. Thanks so much!!

We moved here December of last year and looked at many houses in a short time and the agent Matt Sims was great and very patient with us and listened to what we were looking for. We ended up in Kansas City Mo in a newer subdivision but are in the Liberty school district which we understand has a great school system.

Hi F.! We having been working with a real estate agent that I love! We happened to meet her because we were interested in one of her properties (so she was not a friend first, but I'd call her a friend now). She is an agent full time (which I recommend). She is VERY responsive and is not happy until you find what you want! We were/are very picky and she found something for us that was not even on the market. She figured out who the owner was & made some phone calls. I've worked with several agents to this point and I will never switch again. Her name is Celia Huneycutt -###-###-####. She is with Prudential. Good luck w/ your house hunt!

The only real estate agent I could recommend is Judy Berry with Re/Max Realty. She is very good and takes her time with you. She is honest and fair. I can only tell you that the office is in Gladstone, MO. But she will meet you and come to you wherever you are. My best to you and welcome to you and your family to Kansas City!!

Georgiane Skid (w/ Prudential) is AMAZING and you will not regret your decision to hire her to represent you. She used to live in Independence and knows the area well (I just called to ask her.) She is sharp, has integrity and an excellent reputation with other agents. My house has been on the mkt for over 2 years, we hired one of the top top agents in KC (won't say her name but you may e-mail me), and it has been an awful experience all the way around. Not only have we lowered the price about $400k with no closed deals, but her promises to negotiate have proven to be complete fabrication. Be smart! Choose wisely!! Georgiane's # ###-###-####

Ron Parks is with ReMax. He's a very easy going and patient person. I can't find his number right off, but if you go to the ReMax website, you should be able to search for him there.

Welcome to Kansas City! You may also want to look at the Stowers Institute of Research (right by UMKC) if you are interested in that aspect of science for your career.

Good luck with your house hunt and your job hunt!
