I have 12 inch square stone tile in my master bath in the shower, on the floor and around the tub. I am looking for a stone cleaner that won't harm the stone but will deal with mildew and soap scum that you get in bathrooms. I also don't want to have difficulty finding said product. I would like ot be able to just go to the grocery store or home depot and not have to order from a specialty retailer. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Borax! you can get it at the grocery store in the cleaning section. I use it to clean LOTS of stuff in the house, and you can mix it with various other ingredients to make "natural" cleaners for almost everything from laundry, dishwashers, stone grout, etc etc! look it up online for tons more ideas about how you can clean with Borax instead of other harmful chemicals.

LA's Totally Awesome! It's at the dollar store, and will clean anything, anywhere. I was skeptical when someone told me I could get such a magical product for only $1 until I gave it a go....WOW! Good luck:)

I would try vinegar and water.

My sister swears by the extra strength Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I haven't remembered to buy it so I all I have is second hand knowlege....

BTW any rumors about it having hazardous chemicals and being banned from stores are false (you can check it out on snopes.com).

I love the L.A. totally Awesome. You can use it on everything and it really is only $1.00. sort of has a strong smell but works on everything. Also....We have ceramic tile everywhere so I bought a floor steamer. I went to Overstock.com and bought the Hahn. It has an attachment so you can also steam your rug, furniture, etc. It was less than $100.00 and it just uses water. That is it, just water (I used distilled but regular tap water is okay). no chemicals, no smell, and dries without streaks. Not only is the floor clean, it is sanitized. It doesn't clean the grout but will loosen the dirt/mildew, etc. so that you can clean the grout easier. I am pretty sure it is safe for stone.

I ditto Lynn. Not only does it not harm the tile/stone but the smell is wonderful. It may sound strange but I have had people over and when they come out of my bathroom they ask what I have used to clean my bathroom. How funny, not something I would have ever thought to ask. Plus, the products are bio degradable and safer than the products you might buy in the store.
