Recommendable Female Pediatrician That Takes All Kids in Chicago?

my problem is that my kids have shared a cough and off and on fever among them for a little more than a week now. i've asked countless of friends and family for worthwhile referrals to no avail. our one big problem is that none of the 'good' peds take all kid/kidcare/medicaid!!! and i'm just worried... i know that it's probably just a common cold but what if something worse happens??
my husband and i had a horrible experience with our family doctor last month and since then we've been searching for a better pediatrician for our almost 3 yr old son and 7 months old daughter. we had brought our daughter in for her 6 months check-up and the dr. said she was alarmingly underweight. i of course shared his concern but then he went on to criticize how my husband and i chose to delay solid foods because she developed a diaper rash after having butternut squash. he kept on insisting that she should be at the point where she can have macaroni and cheese and graham crackers. i explained our dilemma that we had wanted to wait for her diaper rash to go away before we continued with more solids so that we could rule out any allergic reaction. he continued to make judgement that all we had to do was change her diaper more frequently! at this point, it was clear that this was a futile battle and we left the office thinking 'who the hell does this guy think he is?!'

thanks for your help!

So What Happened?

hi ladies!
well, well, well!!! first off, my family and i are very grateful to all of you for sharing your experiences and for having such thoughtfulness!! we decided to go with a doctor affiliated with children's memorial, and they are just wonderful. i love how their office is so geared toward children and that although we were assigned to a resident doctor, there is always an attending pediatrician to address any concerns that the resident may have. it made me feel like we have two pediatricians that care for the health and well-being of my children! so thank you again... merry christmas every one!!!

I don't know if he takes all kids, but I can recommend a great doctor. His name is Dr. Subash Arora. He has one office in Evergreen Park (near 95th and Kedzie) and one in Orland (near 159th and Lagrange Rd). He is great with both of my children. I have recommended him to quite a few people and they all come back to me saying how much they love him. His evergreen park office number is ###-###-####.

Hi I., i can recommend my doctor, Goldstein, i love him, they are sharing the office with other 4 more pedriatisions, their numbers are ###-###-####. In the mean time for the rash i used johnson baby oil, it is amazing, just using once the diaper rash was gone. And for food i can offer the mix i do, 3 baby bisquvits+ a quater of a banana mash them with 2 oz of baby formula. Also you can try it with apple, orange and all the other veggies. for the cold I put everything in very very hot water after i use to get rid of the cold bacteria. Even I wash everyday his bed sheets, it helps when you keep the window open so the same bacteria will not stay there more than it has too:) hope you like my doctor and your baby get well soon.

My pediatrician is pretty good and very gentle with young children and for the most part listens to the parent/s concerns without making too many judjements. She takes all kinds of insurance. Both my children where born at Rush Universtiy Medical Center. Because of the location to our home we decided on a pediatrician affiliated with Rush. Call the Rush Pediatric Primary Care Center ###-###-####...they have about 13 pediatricians. Yes its sounds like a large office...but let me tell you that it is well staffed and very efficient. I have noticed mothers who have All Kids medical card. Give them a call and see if they accept your coverage. Dr. Sharon Sholiton is my childrens pediatrician. She is so nice, thorough, and takes her time to listen to any and all questions and concerns.
