My niece is turning 9 in a couple of months and my Mom has no idea what to get her. My kids are 5 & 6, so I'm not sure what 9 year olds are into.

What are the hot gifts for tween girls right now?

What can I do next?

My daughter is 10 and loves Justice, which just took over Limited Too as well. Gift cards are fun at this age because they lllllloooooovvvvvveeee to shop. Sweet and Sassy is a great place, if there's one near you. If she'd rather give a gift than a gift card my daughter is totally in to Webkinz, Littlest Pet Shop and music. She likes the High School Musical stuff, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, any of the Disney Mixes on CD. Or reading, she is reading the Little House on the Prairie books and loves Dear Dumb Diary. Also Magazine Subscriptions if she's into a sport or even something like National Geographic Kids. My daughter is an all star cheerleader so she gets Texas Cheerleader and American Cheerleader. Then there is always American Girl dolls, magazine and books. We love them too! Sorry for so much, ideas just keep popping in my head!

My daughter is 14 but she has ALWAYS loved spa day.

We go get a spa pedi/mani together, go to lunch somewhere. Our favorite lunch spots are La Madeline, Luby's (one of her fave's but I go for her), Maggiano's.

She pretty much shops for her self now so gift cards are appreciated to place like PacSun, Hot Topic, Guess. As always I-tunes.

I have a great "hip" shirt for tweens...
Hot pink with "Rockstar Chick" and a flying guitar. Also a white one with "Peace Lovin Chick" on it. If you would like you can check the out at www.divabdesigns.com

They are very popular sellers with this age group.

My 9-year-old likes music (anything Radio Disney), Tinkerbell, Hannah Montana, crafts, Claire's and books. BUT, what she really, really likes is time. Go get your nails done together. Go to a movie. Or maybe lunch at a tea room.

Webkinz
Scrapbook kits
Those craft Kits at Michael's
My 11 year old got into knitting at around 9 - the circle looms; she likes to make hats for all her friends. And family. And darn near everyone else.
Cut fleece blanket (if she doesn't already have one or ten)...
Time. My daughter has always loved time. Zoo, movies, nails, hair - her favorite Christmas is still Glamour shots for the two of us... she was 9 then.

My daughter will be 9 next month. I second everything the other posters have said so far. Gift certificates to Claires, Justice (used to be Limited Too), Target. Libby Lu went (or is about to go) out of business. She's also still into Webkinz. Loves lipgloss, cool pens, paper, notebooks of any sort, fun t-shirts, video games. She has been giving CD's to her friends for birthday gifts - ones with songs from mixed artists from Disney channel or other teen singers, which has gone over well.

I would avoid Barbies or anything else that might be "baby-ish" to a 9 year old. Mine is trying to grow up too fast (which is sad!) and doesn't like when she gets something that she would've played with at age 6. HTH!

My daughter is 9.5 and loves posters for her room (High School Musical, Pictures of animals, etc). Another gift she loved was her own photo album. It wasn't fancy, just nice, with space to put her pictures and then write a little something about it to the side. She LOVES gift cards to book stores or any other fun place. Another great idea is a gift card to a mall then she can spend in any store she likes. She also likes jewelry and fun soft pillows for her bed. She loves to art/paint and loves any kits to do that (you can find easily at Michaels or Hobby Lobby). She also received a High School Musical watch and is LOVING wearing it!

Blessings!

a gift certificate is great, anything for libby lu which is a girly girl store. They normally began to like clothes of all kinds. Skinny jeans or T shirts, even things for hair, lipgloss, cd's, electronic games or cds for electronic games. Hanna Montana is great for this age. Really cool purses or backpacks (anything trendy)

My 8 1/2 year old daughter is into arts and crafts. Most big box stores carry craft kits that she and many of her friends enjoy. She also loves art supplies. Lots of girls this age like pretty journals. She loves to read and yes, she loves video games. If your niece has a video game player, I'm sure there is a video game she wants. There are lots of games now geared toward girls. One of my daughter's favorite Christmas gifts was a plastic cosmetics box (I think Caboodles makes it) filled with different flavors of lip balm, shiny lip gloss, good smelling soap, hand lotion, body lotion, and some hair accessories. Oh, and most, if not all, 9 year old girls LOVE the store Claire's. It's full of girlie stuff and would be a good place to get a gift card so she can choose what she wants. Hope this helps.
