Have you heard of Rockabye Baby? They are cd's of lullaby rendintions of rock bands like U2, Radiohead and the Eagles. Something you might enjoy too!

Does anyone have a CD of songs for kids that they love? I'd like to buy a few CDs to play for my babies while they're playing, and perhaps that I (and eventually they) can sing along to. I'm running out of songs to sing to them - Itsy Bitsy Spider and the ABC Song are getting old! (It would be nice if the CD was fun for adults to listen to as well.) Thanks!

Hi H.! I actually like the Veggie-Tales sing-alongs. They take fun 70s and 80s music or road trip music and sing it in a kid-friendly way. But it's fun for the parents because you'll know the words. Also, Sugar Beats is a cd that will do that as well, or Silly Songs. Have fun! Definitely use amazon for your cd buys--you can get some great deals there!
H.,
We (my husband AND our 2-year old) love Laurie Berkner (Buzz Buzz) and Dan Zanes.
I second Laurie Berkner -- she is one of our favorites. We have her "Under a Shady Tree" and "Buzz Buzz". We also love Raffi, who made a lot of cd's, and the songs are very good to sing along with ("Baby Beluga", "Singable Songs for the Very Young"). A really beautiful one we have given to many people is the Disney Lullaby cd (the instrumental one) -- great for sleepy time music.
We like Laurie Berkner. She's funny, has catchy and folksy tunes, and they don't get as old as quickly as many of the others out there!
Hi, H.!
Ugh-I know how difficult it can be to find a variety of quality music.
Our favorite cd's are:
Come Follow Me (amazon.com or you can even download it on i-tunes)
The lullabies cd from Target (from the previewable cd rack by the greeting cards)
Kindermusik has excellent age-appropriate cd's that you get when you sign up for their classes (we take their classes and they are terrific, and they start young-I think at 6 mos.)
Celtic Lullabies and Mediterranean Lullabies (both from Barnes & Noble)
Also, there are some a capella cd's like "Sing a Song of Seasons"; in fact, the same woman who sings that one has several others, including a cd of lullabies. (If you can't find it on Amazon, you can definitely find it on www.atoygarden.com, although it appears they are having server trouble today.)
Hope this helps & good luck,
B.
I recommend "Philadelphia Chickens" by Sandra Boynton. It would be in the picture book section of the bookstore, as it's a book and cd combo. My daughter has been listening to this cd almost every night since she was 4 months old (that's TWO years) and she still loves it. Sandra Boynton also has a couple of other cd's like "Dog Train" but "chickens" is the best. It's filled with clever funny songs sung by famous actors or musicians. Plus, it's catchy enough that adults enjoy it as well.
Our eldest loved Laurie Berkner. She has several CDs out; you may have seen her on Noggin. Very fun, upbeat, cute music.
I would recommend the Cedarmont Kids CDs. There are a lot of different types, so you can find just about any song. They're available at Wal-Mart, Christian bookstores, etc.
