M.D.
Walk him in to his doctor today. He needs an actual diagnosis and I would be concerned enough to be waiting for the doctor when he arrived.
I took my son to the er w headache temp that wouldn't break and severe leg pain from knee down on both legs complained 1st time about throat hurting 15 mins after we got there did lab work and swabbed for strep and tonsillitis and both came back negative said his throat was red they sent home w amoxcillian but hes still getting fever throat pain and leg pain. Hes up within every hr in an half through the high the temp is still there as I break it time and time and complains about throat hurting as this is the main reason hes waking up done popsicles and ice water and Gatorade just running out of things to ease his pain and discomfort even with ibup & tyl... any advice?????

You need to get him in to his primary doctor and get an actual diagnosis.
i would call his pedi. and get an appt as soon as possible. it is possible that the er missed something. and only a visit with adr would help you find the cause and get a treatment plan that will work.
I doubt they grew the culture to see if it was strep. Take him to see the pediatrician, strep can reek havoc on the body and the leg pains/joints are suspicious. My son has PANS cause by strep and if you treat it right away, it can be a non-issue. Be safe than sorry for lack of urgency.
When did you go to the ER? The ER is just to try to help you until you get in to see your regular Dr.
By now, he should be seen by his pedi so a proper diagnosis can be made.
Definitely go to his pediatrician.
While it's good he doesn't have strep or tonsillitis, his fever means he's fighting some sort of infection - and since the ER gave you antibiotics that means they think it's bacterial (antibiotics do nothing for viruses).
Take him to your pediatrician, follow his advice and monitor/treat symptoms as they occur.
It takes time to get over being sick - so it might be a week or two before he's feeling better.
Make some chicken soup, have him sipping tea with honey and lemon, if his sore throat is from postnasal drip, then have him use a neti pot to rinse his nose out with salt water.
He can gargle salt water (no swallowing it) to help his sore throat too.
Load up on popsicles and Gatorade - ginger ale is good too.
Switch back and forth between Tylenol and Motrin to help with the fever.
Are you following up with his pediatrician today or tomorrow?
That's what I'd do.
Pedialite, warm soup, decaf warm tea, Popsicles...
The rule in our house is when you're sick you get to eat whatever and whatever you feel like.
He might have Viral Pharyngitis.. I had it back in February and the sore throat (which I thought was strep) was due to VP... it was the worse sore throat I had ever had... Additionally, it was the oddest thing, but I could feel what I think was the fever moving throughout my body because at one time my legs would ache and then my arms.. which makes me wonder IF what your son is feeling below his knees is the fever racing through his body. sometimes we only think of our foreheads being hot, but a fever will/can rip through the body... Also, because it's a virus, they didn't give me meds.. but did offer some steroid solution for my sore throat, which because I was in such pain, I took and it helped immediately..
I wonder if VP is what your son has... it's a virus but it seems to be a VERY intense one this year...
also, I am guessing they ruled out meningitis? my son had it (without the rash) so one needn't have all symptoms... in my son's case.. it was fatigue, high fever and aching head...
it's worth checking out as well..
I wish you all the best
